I think this whole promtotion is a farce, my bf called up as soon as he got his voucher must have been the beginning of October and noting but gym sessions were avaliable. Its just been a joke and badly managed.0

Well I applied for the beauty treatment...not really fussed which one. but I got a FREE DAY out voucher instead..
Not really my cup of tea ,, a visit to a museum........
and anyways some of them are free anyways without any voucher...........
hardley any excitment or relaxation..........0 -
TBH I didn't bother applying for this...Didn't think I'd get anything worthwhile out of it...and it seems I was right....
But it's interesting that you suggest that all disabled people should be given the pamper treats...thus meaning, presumably, that more "able" people will be given the active option - which for a lot of people wouldn't exactly be "relaxing" or, indeed, a treat...So surely that would be some kind of positive discrimination. Seems to me the fairest way they could have done it is to give the treats out first come first served...which seems to have been what they've done.
And, finally, this is a company actually *giving stuff away*. I guess the number of people who complain about not getting the thing they wanted just means that they won't bother giving anything to anyone again. Great.0 -
I'm not posting to cause a row...............But I must step in to defend nectar a bit.
They make an offer to give you something just for being a member, now they know how many members they have. But they also know not everyone wil take them up in it (like myself). But how are they supposed to work out how many members will want to do each?
The simple answer is they can't. And they can't say to a company we want to offer this treat, you may get 3 million people or you may get none - what price can you give me? It just doesn't work.
So someone will end up with a choice they did not want.
Nectar just try and give everyone something.
They don't know if you are ill or disabled or are not willing to travel a few hundered miles
What do you expect from such a large free offer
you are not going to get a personal service
So if you get something you can use............good for you
If you don't like your Free treat, just don't use it or offer it on this forum so someone else can make use of it
At the end of the day What Have You Lost ???
Now I shall sit and wait for the knifes to come flying in (even if it is just for my spelling)Living the Dream...............:A
Every little helps0 -
Can't remember what I applied for but I got a voucher for an Indian Head Massage...I binned it!

Have to agree with Jedster - it was a free giveaway was it not? In which case, Nectar have probably asked the companies they normally work with for some freebies for their members, and are limited by the number of places available for each. Paintballing can be done by say 20 people at a time with maybe two instructors, whereas a facial is a one-to-one activity, so it makes sense that they would have less of the vouchers which are more labour intensive.
I know it is annoying to be given a choice and not get what you want, but unfortunately, as it's a freebie, there's not much you can do except maybe give the voucher to someone who can use it. I would guess that in the Ts and Cs there is a clause about offering alternatives to cover just such an eventuality, but if anyone does get a positive reponse from letting Nectar know their situation, please update.0 -
Yup, I agree with Jedster too - it's a FREE giveaway, so it's not like you're loosing out on anything. They were just trying to do something nice, and it's hard to judge what people will want, and please everyone. I guess they weren't counting on so many people MOANING about FREE gifts, hence the lack of replies!
I filled my Sainsbury thing out online the day I got it, months ago, and thought nothing about it and forgot. Then I got a hotmail email last week , apologising for the delay to hotmail accounts, then a voucher for a free manicure at a venue which is a 10 minute walk from my house!
Think I might use it and get my dodgy nails sorted out!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I too asked for a pamper treat - back massage first and head massage second. I've got a young baby so some chill out pamper time just for me would be nice. I got a day out voucher instead.
I think if the promotion had been better managed it wouldn't have been as much of a let down. They first ask you to choose pamper or activity, then you pick from numerous things the 2 you like best.
Maybe they shouldn't have let people pick 2 choices and just given it all randomly? That way there would be no expectation and disappointment?
If I'd got a day out voucher without asking I would have thought it was a nice gesture but not used it. However when I'd been asked and specified a pamper treat, then I get something completely different, I just feel let down as they didn't listen to my request. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Maybe they intended the offer to be for customers who they sent the email to, and weren't expecting it to be posted on MSE?!? Hence it would explain the demand being SO high and them being unable to cope...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
