NECTAR treats - I am appalled

I am not sure if this is the right forum. But it is about a freebieand I just have to let off steam about it.
I am fuming.
I have been a Nectar points collector for years. They have just issued all new cards and with it a free "treat". You could have 2 classes of treat, an activity or a pamper. Immediately I got my card I went to register for my treat on line. I asked for a pamper day - either a manicure or a facial.
I have had a rouhg year and thought a pamper would do me good.
When the "treat" voucher arrived it was for a visit to a gym as they had been over subscribed for everything (considering the offer goes on until Feb 08 I feel they have managed this very badly)
I wrote to them explaining that I had ordered a NON active treat as I have MS and can barely walk hence needing a pamper rather than exercise.
They ignored me.
I wrote and complained that they were clearly discriminating against those with a disability. Why offer the choice of an active or non active treat when they were just going to ignore the type of choice and give an active one anyway.
So you can have your Nectar treat only if you are fully able bodied.
I wonder if they have heard of the DDA?
Right, Fume over.
Thank you

You are far from alone in this experience. There have been several similar rants - possibly on the Vent Board. :mad:Ellie

Oh that's a shame
I hope you sort it out, keep at them as it doesn't seem right to give you a different treat that you asked for, especially when you can't use it. Good luck. xx

How awful for you, I do hope they see sense and sort this out for you, surely they can do something.0

Alison I could have written your post myself. I called the day I received the promotion and was told no pamper treats left but to call back on the 1st October. I was informed then there were plenty of pamper treats and I would receive my voucher shortly. I called yesterday as I hadnt received anything and was told I had been awarded a day out in Nottingham, I live in Scotland. I also am not in good health and after explaining this was told I could go paintballing, very similar to a manicure. I am awaiting a supervisor to call back which I am sure will never happen. It stinks of these promotions where they give you something you cant use, no way would you travel 10 hours to use their voucher0

People should write to Justin King Chief Exec at Sainsburys justin.king@sainsburys.co.uk they are the biggest user of Nectar and should be applying pressure on www.loyalty.co.uk who own and manage Nectar to sort this out.:beer:0

I wish you the best of luck with it. Hopefully you'll get your deserved treat soon!0

Thanks call centre guru I will do just that. Its not the treat now but the principle and all the phone calls. Will let you know if I get a response.0

I have had the same experience as Alison & scooby - Immediately I got my card I went to register for my treat on line. I asked for a pamper day - several months later I recieved an email saying there had been a problem with hotmail hence the delay but assuring me that "Unfortunately, due to the popularity of the free treats offer there are some instances where we have not been able to give customers their preferred treat. This is not a result of the Hotmail problems as treats are allocated when the request was originally received. We've done our best to find you an alternative free treat that we hope you enjoy." - I was given a day out voucher! - not impressive!0

I have brittle asthma and can not go out for long in the cold, I also asked for a pamper treat, of either a massage or head massage, and got sent a voucher for a day out. not only is it not apropriate but again there are none in my area,
ironically i'm from Nottingham so had they sent me paintballing while I could not go I would at least have been able to find someone who could.Started comps 7th August 2007 total for 2007 £1890
had a break for a couple of months £835 / £2008 wins this month,

nowthat i think about it the previous threads were probably on "warnings and rip-offs". If enough of you complain surely something will be done. They wont like a lot of negative publicity so why not go to the media with it?Ellie
