Card fraud, bank wont refund.

Sorry op, but either you, or a family member has done this. Not just the one transaction, but all of them.....
I suggest if you want to take this further to report and accuse the very small pool of suspects to the police.0 -
No, I have to verify every new transaction, even on the same website. The other websites in question did not have secure code so a text to my phone wasn't needed for them. I get strange numbers calling me all the time. I just don't answer.
How do you know all of this - having never done an online gambling account?0 -
I have already reported it to the police - they said to take it up with the bank and forwarded me to Action Fraud.0
-
And have you spoken to any of your suspect pool?0

How do you know all of this - having never done an online gambling account?
Well I know to start off with that I always need to verify any transaction I make online. Asda, electric company, phone company. If I decide to amend my order on Asda I still need to reverify it. It was only the one transaction on this website. So the code was only sent once. No other deposits made on it. As for the rest of the websites the bank told me secure code was not used on any of them.0 -
And have you spoken to any of your suspect pool?
Of course. Denial all round.0 -
Well in that case I think you are left with the redress that everybody has who find themselves in your situation you formally complain to the bank that these transactions were not made by you and that you want them refunded
if they don't do that then you get a Deadlock letter and go to the FOS and take it from there0 -
There is still no explanation how the authorisation code texted by the bank came into the hands of whoever made the transactions.
We also don't know whether the phone number recorded on the bank account is actually still the OP's phone number. Nor do we know whether the password for the bank account has now been changed, following this episode.0 -
I have put a complaint forward to the bank to see how that goes.
The only explanation for the text code is that the person had access to my phone at a time. It was just this one transaction and the only website that required it. The number on my account is still mine. I have changed my passwords on everything - banking, emails, websites I frequent etc.0 -
yes i agree with colsten lots of unanswered questions.0
