Afternoon everyone.
Well done to all the losers this week so far. Good to see you posting Stoke and well done at keeping within target.
Talkingdead, I've done the kebab with minced lamb and it worked really well. I couldn't find very low fat minced lamb either but I think the fat helps stick it together. If you have a 'proper' butcher locally could you ask them to mince some lean lamb for you? Will only a lamb kebab do? I made some chicken tikka kebabs yesterday which were lovely and syn free.
It's my one year anniversary of getting to target weight (Bubbs too I think??) and I'm surprised and delighted that I've only had a very minor (1/2lb) out of range week in that time. For any doubters, this really does work! Another small loss this week puts me within 1lb of target so back on track.
Have a good weekend all.0 -
Well done Beanie. That's a good loss - that's about the max I tend to lose (and then only if I've been absolutely 100% including not doing the sun bank thing!).
Last night didn't go to plan and I ended up with extra Syns with too many wines (only really had one small glass to spare synwise!); but one glass is never enough, LOL!
I use the Jordan's Skinny Syrup Maman. In fact I've just been to TK Maax to buy a couple of different flavours. I've now got the S'Mores (which is the one that's nearly empty! Salted Caramel and Glazed Donut. They are £3.99 a bottle. Don't know of anywhere else that stocks them and it's quite a journey to the nearest one to me so have to combine it with needing to go to that area for something else! There is quite a big range of flavours available. They might be available online but I haven't actually checked as a bottle lasts quite a long time.
Today's plan:
B - lardons, onion, pepper, mushroom omelette
L - jacket potato with FF cottage cheese; lettuce, cucumber, tomato, beetroot, pickled onions, HM syn free red onion chutney & cornichons
D - corned beef hash (not sure how many syns for the corned beef as I bought it in France but didn't actually use it so will need to use the online estimate). Looking forward to it as it's something we've not had for quite some time.0 -
Congratulations on your anniversary esmy :T
Thanks for that Denise . I have a couple of TKMaxx branches here so I'll take a look.
Which recipe do you use for corned beef hash? I love it too.0 -
Don't know what happened to the post I did and thought I'd posted! Try again!
I'm using a new recipe tonight from the slimming eats website - https://www.slimmingeats.com
I've prepped the potatoes ready for when I start making the hash. Will serve it with a fried egg & beans. Will let you know if I prefer it or my normal recipe which has the beans stirred into it (I think I'll prefer them tonight as I just think having the beans in the hash looks a mess! but that's how DH likes it).

That looks really nice denise although my DH doesn't eat eggs so I'm more likely to serve something green on the side.
I tend to prep my corned beef hash in advance and then bake it when I'm ready. I adapt this recipe, substituting a splash of milk for the cream and adding extra veg like mushrooms and courgettes.

I try to buy the smaller, low fat tins of corned beef in Morrisons when I can (no pun intended;)) but they didn't have any last time I was there. Otherwise I try to scrape as much fat as possible off a normal tin (helps to put it in the fridge first).
I think we might have that again soon as now I know I'm in target I can relax a bit.:D0 -
I was sad to hear muller lights now had syns but it gets me back to 'proper' food, which is no bad thing.
maman you're completely right, and after tonight there are at least 3 months before I may see him at another family event. By then I will have other coping mechanisms in place.
I have a microwave at work and a fridge, so good facilities...I just easily get into a rut.
Control is definitely the name of the game0 -
-1LB for this morning. Really happy with that and top of target range is back in sight
We had friends to stay last weekend which hampered my plans a bit as I did rather over indulge in the gin department and this weekend we are having friends over for dinner. I'm going to make moussaka and a Greek salad. There will be crusty bread and olives for those that wNt them and I have loads of blueberries and raspberries to serve as pudd with some low far creme fraich or icecream. I will be trying very hard to behave myself as I soooo want to be back at target!
Have a lovely weekend everyone xx0 -
Maman we found the hash a bit on the dry side. I like the look of the one you've linked to. Will have to try that one next time!
I always put my corned beef in the fridge so any fat goes hard and makes it easier to scrape off. I was really impressed with the tin I bought from France as it was extremely lean with very little fat on it and cheaper than buying it here in the UK. Think I'm going to syn it as the lean stuff.
FrankieM - as you've got a microwave & fridge at work you can have virtually anything for your lunch. How about making extra of your dinner and taking it to work the next day and just reheat in the microwave. Soups are another idea. I always make big batches of various soups and freeze in portions for 2 of us as we're retired so eat lunch at home. But when I was working used to freeze in single portions.
Jacket potatoes are another good option for work. You can pre cook a batch and freeze individually and just take one with you and pop into the microwave to reheat. You could take beans to reheat to put on it or cottage cheese, tuna mayo etc for cold topping.
Enjoy the party tonight and don't worry about your ex. You are going to a family event after all.
Well done on the loss MM. You'll soon get back into target range now it's in sight.

Hi everyone! Sorry I can't keep up while I'm working. Just reporting yet another STS - four weeks I've managed to maintain, which would be great if I were at target! It's a completely fair reflection though as I'm angelic at work and have been running 3x per week, but then go mad on chocolate in the evenings. It's six weeks to my weekend away in Belfast though, and if I could lose 1.5 a week I'd be into the next stone bracket for that so that's my next target.
Well done TTD and thanks as always Chris! xx
Off to Parkrun now even though it's persisting down. Have a good weekend all!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
