Belated Happy birthday Maman. I knew your birthday was this month but couldn't remember the date! Glad you had a good day. The meal doesn't sound too sinful and don't forget as a target member you can have extra Syns on a few days a week! Avocado is actually one of the Savvy syns that are mentioned in the new book - might be worth a read if you haven't done so yet! Can come in handy for special occasions.

Didn't go to WI this morning as spent the night in A&E! Went to see my GP as I've had a blocked ear since before my holiday and it still hadn't cleared up. He decided to check my BP and it was about double what it normally is! He then had me doing all sorts of "tests" as he was concerned I might end up having a stroke! Told me to go straight to A&E and gave me a letter for the Medical team - unfortunately they had loads of emergencies so I got to the hospital about 7.30pm (decided I knew I'd be at the hospital for hours so had my curry & rice before I went). I wasn't allowed to drive so DH had to come with me. My BP was checked 3 times in the 10 hours I was there and when I eventually saw the doctor she just told me to go back to my GP and get it checked again, absolutely fuming! She said it might be useful to have a 24 hour BP monitor and to ask GP about one! There's a 3 month waiting list for one of those at my GP as DH was supposed to have one.

Sorry for the rant but I'm so tired but not planning on going to bed until tonight - just hoping the tiredness will pass.

Will do a separate post with menu plan!

    Back again.

Didn't have my 2nd HEA after all yesterday nor the Ryvitas! The reason being I went straight up to the hospital after dinner!

    Today's plan:

Early breakfast when I got home from hospital at 6.30am - 1 slice of toast with butter (6 syns)

B - baked oats with fruit, skinny syrup, quark & 1 Tbs half fat creme fraiche (from France) 1.5 syns
L - LO Leek & potato soup; 1 slice of bread
D - pork shank (from France) with haricot beans which is cooking in the slow cooker. Will probably have some of the LO cabbage with it. Will use the stock to make a 2 pea soup which I've planned for later in the month but easy to make tomorrow and then freeze!

Hope the weather is better where you are than it is here - very wet & windy!

I went to my first weigh-in since December.... Unbelievably, I'm still at target which I'm over the moon at.

Back in the game now. Hopefully can maintain this going forward :)

Well done Stoke. That's brilliant. Good luck with keeping within the target range. You've managed it for nearly 3 months so it looks like SW is now a way of life for you.

Just realised the toast I had this morning for my 1st breakfast needs to be synced at 3 so taday's total will be 10.5 syns. I'm OK with that as it's the first day of a new week. Will probably do my usual of using most syns between today and Sunday and then rein it back in Monday to Wednesday!

Beanie Yes it was - almost 12 hours of my life wasted (it's almost an hour each way to the hospital!). And to add insult to injury car parking was £8!

That's a dreadful story denise. Poor you.:( It seems increasingly that people are being encouraged to take their blood pressure at home as it prevents what used to be called 'white coat syndrome'. Some people buy their own monitors but I don't think I'd trust myself. It's the reason I don't have scales at home. I'm afraid I'd become obsessed.:o

:T that's great news Stoke. staying at target is so much easier than getting there. sounds like you've got used to the SW way.:D

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I had great news at WI today. I've not been to group for 9 weeks and I only gained half a pound.:j I'm delighted as that covers my holiday and numerous meals out. I'm still in target range so I'm a very happy bunny today.:D

I stayed for group and it was a bit crazy. The assessors/managers were there with their clipboards and our consultant was a bit like the Duracelll bunny today. she seemed to want to get every feature of SW into the Image Therapy and, although she is a bubbly person, today she was positively manic. She had a 'recipe of the week' board up which was seabass with tomatoes, garlic and bacon. It looked yummy. This is the same recipe:

    https://www.fishbox.co.uk/recipes/sea-bass-with-bacon-and-tomatoes/

Celebrations continue. I'm out tonight at a country pub I've not been to before. The menu looks varied so I should be OK making wise(ish) choices. To be honest, I'm rarely tempted by the really synful food like batter, bread or pastry. Most of my syns are in the wine that washes the food down.:o

    Roday's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Weetabix, HEA milk, half banana
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onion, beetroot, pickled cabbaage
    D: tba
