Hi everyone. Just caught up with all the posts. That chicken parma sounded nice Tete but as you say probably not worth wasting syns on now that the Philly isn't HEA anymore.
Good to see you posting again Greentiger.
My meal out last night was really good - had a whole sea bass for my main course with some green beans, tender stem broccoli & one baked Anya potato (only a small one as could see the oil on it!). Had a Greek salad as starter but couldn't believe there was no lettuce in it! My sister gave me some from her starter as she had too much! so a couple of Syns for the olives in that. Most of the syns came from the dessert! Had the sticky toffee pudding with a pecan sauce & creme fraische - was really good but very rich and very synful!!!
Line drawn and back on it today (didn't stay for the beige buffet after all!) and came home:
B - fruit and nut museli with some milk (part HEA + 7)
L - sausage & onion sandwich (HEB + 1 for spread and 1 for sausage)
D - chicken breast, roast potatoes, roasted onions, carrots & peppers, cabbage
HEA1 & 2 - milk (but not using the whole amount)
HEB - bread
Syns - cereal 7; spread 1, sausage 1
So a few syns pulled back today!

But keep the SW faith

I think there are many factors that can encourage weight gain as we get older curlgirl. So called 'middle aged spread' definitely exists but men get it as well as women. There are specific things like vegastare said with certain medications but generally I think we become more sedentary and perhaps metabolism slows down (like everything else!;)).
I put on weight as I got older but it was gradual and mainly down to a change of lifestyle. So getting older meant I'd progressed in my career and a management job meant more sitting in meetings or driving to them and picking up unhealthy snacks from petrol stations on the way as I'd missed meals. Then I'd get home late and reward myself with wine for getting through the days. So it was loosely linked to age but perhaps not in the way you meant. Also, there are so many young, overweight women around to disprove the theory that it's an age thing IYSWIM.
I'm going to put Bolognese in the SC later as I'm down to my last portion in the freezer and they're so useful. I did feel a bit hungry last night but made myself a SW friendly snack (ham, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes:D) so back on plan now for a couple of days at least.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk, skinny syrup and half banana
L: veggie omelette with picklesroast chicken, SW roast potatoes, various Speed veg (cauli, broccoli, cabbage, kale, carrots etc)
Syns: HM gravey 4, weekend wine:D.
I'm using up a YS chicken crown which allegedly has syns but I think that's in the skin which I won't be eating so ignoring that.;)0 -

Interesting to know different people's views.
I'm just greedy.
My only symptoms of the menopause is lack of periods and the occasional hot flush, which to be honest is welcome as I'm normally freezing cold.curl girl with a space - even though there is no space in my cupboard!!!0 -
Don't be too hard on yourself Sue, you have a lot to deal with at the moment without kicking yourself about what you eat as well. Sending hugs.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Absolutely right tete. I think you've done well to STS sue. It's not easy to fit healthy eating around all that's going on in your life. There are far too many quick, easy unhealthy foods available. Just do your best.:)
I've just portioned up the Bolognese I made yesterday for the freezer. Good to have plenty of HM ready meals available. It was easy to put it together while I was prepping the veg for dinner and I had some ready prepped carrots and peppers in the freezer that I'd done before we went away at Easter or they'd have gone to waste. :money:
I think (hope;)) today is going to be fairly well on plan. Although it's a Bank Holiday there shouldn't be any distractions so I'm hoping for the best. Changed my plan a bit today as I have plenty of broccoli to use up. There seems to be a glut of tenderstem/purple sprouting at the moment and so it's cheaper than usual.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, fried eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: cold meat, pickles, LO vegburger, SW chips, carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus, tenderstem broccoli
Syns: HP sauce 1 and hopefully nothing else.:)0 -
After my very synful weekend I'm going to try and make the rest of the week before WI on Thursday as low syn as possible!
Today's plan:
B - baked oats, strawberries, skinny syrup & quark (HEB)
L - jacket potato, beans, salad - salad leaves, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, spring onions, pickled onions, HM onion chutney, pickled beetroot
D - shepherds pie from freezer; will have swede & carrot mash (both need using up!); cauliflower & LO cabbage from yesterday reheated
HEA - milk in tea
HEA2 - might add a bit of grated cheese to the top of the shepherds pie!
HEB - porridge oats
Syns - none planned:A
Have a lovely bank holiday Monday everyone.

Do you think the menopause really does effect your weight or am I just looking for an excuse.
I haven't done my final weigh in yet.......
Will brave it when I've got my washing out and had a brew.
My way of eating hasn’t really changed in the last 10 years but am really struggling to lose so yes I blame hormonesalso I seem to bloat whatever I eat so that isn’t helping
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
