So you read the second dial going anti clockwise as such? So it's past the 9, not before?! Ok. This makes sense!0

Hi,
now that you've got the info to get your electric sorted out, are you sure that your gas meter reading is correct?0 -
With the gas you literally just read the numbers off so I can't go wrong! The gas bill seems reasonable so I'm not worried. Thanks everyone for your time and patience. It was probably frustrating getting the info fro me when I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to this! It's greatly appreciated!0

Each dial alternates the direction 0 to 9. Its easy when the pointer is between 2 numbers - you just take the lower number.
When it is pointing at a number, the position of the next dials suggest whether it is 607.. or 597.. If it was 607.. the pointer would have past the zero and be nearly at the 1. But the pointer has past the 9 but not reached the 0, so that makes it 597..
If you take readings regularly you also know what to expect. So in a weeks time your reading should be something like 59788. Still tricky but you know it will start 59....
Suggest taking a monthly photo of your meters is a good idea to your account is sorted out. I reckon you should probably be on a direct debit of about £70 per month.0 -
Hi,
glad you're sorted, don't accept estimated readings in the future, read your meter and if you're not sure of reading then come back to this thread and bung a photie up, somebody will help you out.
Let us know how you get on with your supplier and future switch.0 -
Ok. Fantastic. A plan of action is now in place! Thank you again.0
