I tried a number but ended up with Cobian Backup mainly because I could see exactly what it was doing.0

I've just got a Seagate expansions 1T drive on sale at amazon. Its drag and drop, so no further software is needed, although I've got a free Paragon back up utility which does images.
Do an internet search for paragon full free download, and you should be able to download from paragon with a license key.0 -
getdropbox .com remote back up, will sync your files everytime you save them and even allows for incremental rollbacks. excellent in my line of work, must be for others also.0

I always use drop box for online backup. After you install dropbox, it creates a folder named My Drop Box where you can put your files and drop box will sync your files with the online account. It's so easy and 2GB usuage is free for all basic members.
thanks,

Any advice on the best back up software. Preferably one that backs up programmes, as well as files, data etc. Needed to bakck up 3 machines to 2 external hard drives.
Don't mind paying, less the better but free would be great!0 -
ok here i am again, as we all know im no techie but my computer is REALLY slow, so i bought a seagate 1tb thingy. Ive backed up everything (took 4 hours). Now my question is, one have i backed up my computer including software stuff or do i need to do something else.
and... now ive backed stuff up can i delete some stuff of my laptop now? of so what sort of things take up a lot of space? i.e. music and photos?

deleting files won't make it faster, you need to look at whats running at startup (startuplite, autoruns, hijackthis, msconfig), and check for viruses (malwarebytes) etc.
If the data is important, you need 2 or more copies, otherwise it's not a backup
pjb, macrium reflect free, maxblast. driveimagexml.!!
