Think it might be a bit late for this Christmas. I think even the shortest ones take 2 weeks.
I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.

I made blackjack, fruit salad and parma violet last year. They all went really scummy on top and I never thought to try filtering them! They were too strong for me neat, I'm going to see if I can find any 20% stuff to use this time. I tried mixing them with lemonade which tasted nice but they went a bit like a greasy cola float and went really frothy on top.
Black jack was my favourite, think I'm going to try kola cubes and toffee this year.
I used rum instead of vodka
  • i love this idea and deffinatly gonna try it thanks everybody

inspired by this thread, I have made a werthers vodka for the first time - about a month ago - not able to bash the sweets into pieces so used the liquidiser and got powdery smithereens rather than big lumps. I gave it a good shake everytime I remembered (about twice a week!) and kept it in a cool larder. I've just had a good look at it. It is now an OK toffeeish colour. Some toffee 'sludge' had accumulated in the neck of the bottle right up by the cap, so I've scraped this back in. there is a bit of milky foam/film on the top of the liquid so I think I'll take the coffee filter advice given here. It smells fabulous - but is a bit early for me to taste!
  • The Werthers Toffee vodka recipie deserves to be in the weekly email - like the home made Bailey's recipie was last Xmas.

Wish I'd discovered this before I forked out £20 for a 70cl bottle of Thunder Toffee vodka at an exhibition. I asked the salesman how they got the toffee flavour and he gave me some spiel about using burnt boiled sweets for authenticity

Mind you, Thunder TV is a clear golden liquid (rather than the opaque creamy colour of Werthers TV).
Anyone any ideas on how to replicate this?
  • Hi there,

I know this thread is old but if it helps anyone, I have a website vodkaflavours.co.uk where you can turn normal vodka you buy in the shops into something more special and branded (expensive).

Such as toffee Vodka, Amaretto, Black sambuca, cherry vodka and loads more.
  • I made toffee vodka just before christmas also

I am not a drinker so everyone loved being my taster
i found putting more werthers in, and after 3 days shaking/sitting, putting it in the freezer gave it a thicker consistancy, like Baileys

I also made minty toffee humbug vodka & a splash in black coffee its very delicious as it gives a caramel flavour with a hint of mint,

I finally got round to making this the other week with vodkat and cheap toffees. i melted the toffees in a pan with a bit of water then mixed it with the vodkat and stuck it in the freezer. It was lovely!!!

I have now bought 2 packs of werthers to put in a litre bottle of vodka and i bought a few packs of strawberry chewits for the other litre bottle i will buy!!! :p
