Toffee Vodka success (merged with other flavours)

I wanted to update this thread with all the vodkas I made for Christmas!
Vodka types - I used the cheapest 1Lt Sainsbury's bottles (£11.49) and the cheapest Lidl's vodka. I think they're very similar quality, but for some reason the flavoured Sainsbury's vodka tasted better but smelled worse!
Werthers - made it for my Bailey's loving friends. Didn't think I would like it but it was gorgeous! Everyone loved it. However, only one batch came out nicely - that was the one I kept in the fridge and only took out to stir every couple of days. I thought keeping the second batch on the counter would speed things up but it didn't work. That batch wouldn't amalgamate and it tasted of turps.
Green skittles vodka - this turned an amazing colour and smelled brilliant. It tasted okay, but was really really sweet. Not my favourite.
Cherry vodka - I used the round tins of cherry sweets from Lidls (69p or 99p or something). This worked reasonably well, smelled great, nice pink colour, but again tasted really sweet. Nice on its own but not so good to mix with coke. I tried a second batch with some cherry Tangfastics mixed in - don't do it! It was a disaster. The Tangfastics just didn't dissolve and even three weeks later I was fishing bits of bleached-out Tangfastics from the mix. Yuck!
Rhubarb and custard - this was an amazing colour and everyone liked it. Very easy!
Fox's Glacier Fruits - this was my favourite by far. I might just focus on Werther's and Fox's next year! I used all the red and pink ones to get a nice Watermelon and Strawberry kind of flavour. Not too sweet, beautiful colour, and tasty tasty tasty! I'll make a lemon and lime version next year, as well as a blackcurrant one and an orange one. I'm already excited!!0 -
I maaaade MANY Werther's, Black Jack, Liquorice and Blackurrant, Strawberry and Cream ( those boiled sweets with no sugar in them) and they are turned out fantastically. I bought kilner type bottles and tied Christmas ribbon around the top and stuck stick-on Christmas labels. I wish I had taken photos to show you all. I will definately be doing them again this Christmas.0

I've just had a go of this, and put a 55g bag of skittles (minus the green ones) in approx 150 ml of vodka.
Will this be enough skittles, or should I invest in another bag tonight?0 -
My OH and I made with liquorice allsorts and a bottle of vodka once. Really great, blows your head off.0

Do you think the quality of vodka will affect the taste, i.e. bottle of value vodka vx. Absolut??0
-
From what people have said, value vodka works fine and tastes lovely, I can't see that using more expensive vodka would taste better because the sweetness and flavour of the sweets masks the taste of the vodkaD'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0
