Have you got any local gardening clubs near you, that your mum could try? Even if she doesn't or can't garden at the moment, some clubs are active in visiting local gardens and just enjoying the horticultural chat. WI? U3A?

  • I tried today.

    I really did.

didn't sleep well, but got up did my yoga, drank my hot water, had a shower.

Then discovered there was a leak due to rain

Got to work eight minutes late. Hanging on like grim death to the positivity.

And everything went wrong. Every annoying thing happened. And some serious ones.

And then I got home and the dating guy has ghosted me.

dinner wasn't good, Mum has a new pain and it is raining - so guess what! the leak is in full flow.

I tried to set up myfitnesspal. It wouldn't work.

Two positive things - I sold a set of small suitcases - display for a tenner and I taught one decent lesson.

But honestly I am done. I really did try.

  • Ok

I had cancelled my weekend away as I didn't twig it would mean leaving mum alone on Father's day.

But I have just rebooked it by the sea properly. 238 pounds. I am taking it out of my summer money.

    To hell with it!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Yeah but you’ve just made a tenner towards the cost. Hang in there, better times are ahead

  • Hi Buffy

Can completely sympathise with the situation with your mum since I too live with my mum since my step dad passed away
my mum suffers with mental health , has no care for herself or the surroundings and does very little in terms of getting out - although she has improved on this.

Its tough and its overbearing at times but you must make time for some "you" time too.
My mum takes it very personally when I go away and thinks I go because I don't like living with her but in all honesty I go because I need a break away and I enjoy it

Taking up more excercise has improved my own mental well being and tolerance hugely , it is tough when we feel its all on our own shoulders.

I tend to end the day more like the statue then the pidgeon
  • I have pretty much decided to pay off the debt using my PPI payments.

I am making no progress with anything this year, work is dreadful and home is dreadful. I am not happy. I keep fighting on. But honestly don't know why.

I don't think I said but I got a cheque for 1855 plus the money coming from t'scos 1200. If I pay off 449 to the CC this month (when I get paid) then once I get the cheques paid in I can pay off the rest.

I didn't want to do this as I feel like it is a repeat of previous habits - whenever I have a tax rebate i pay off debts, whenever I save up I pay off debts.

But I also need to see some progress. some hope that things are different. My entire life feels like groundhog day.

I also have to appeal a PPI decision and investigate some others.

  • Weekend was awful. Like too many recently just an onslaught of misery and negativity. I went out Friday and was so tired, then Saturday was running around like the standard headless chicken, hot hungry and generally fed, then yesterday was do all my stuff - rabbits, gps, bedroom, washing, dog walk, worked myself into a migraine which meant I spent today in bed recovering. Not ideal

My room looks a lot better now mind and I like the new set up for the pets. I just wish to God I didn't have to do it all in a tearing hurry in one day.

Next weekend I am away for a night (fingers crossed) so will ask for the list early so I can get it done instead of hanging around waiting - we did it early for a while but it was obviously not that welcome as it hasn't lasted.

After today's day off with naps and washing I do feel more relaxed. But I really was so awfully and utterly sad at the weekend.

Have lots of plans for this week tho, dinner out and a "big" night out with friends on Friday. Also have parents evening but we shall gloss over that!
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I hate trying to get everything done in one day, makes me feel like I haven't had a weekend. Hopefully this weekend will be better :)

Yeah. I hope so, I shall pre-warn sister.

Sometimes tho, there is so much to do. I am constantly alarmed!
