  • Wow Buffy! I admire you for your bold and brave decision. Teaching is a fantastic job...but if the setting isn't supportive or well-managed, it's incredibly stressful. A heart felt well done...

  • Evening all,

I had a lovely Saturday and a disappointing Sunday. Another date with another guy. nice but claimed bad back and basically made it clear we were friends if anything.

All getting a bit much this dating lark to be honest. I came home miserable, went for a walk to my favourite place and had a think.

I am a bit scared to be without a job from Jan. unlikely I won't be employed but still.

So when I came home I transferred all my savings to my current account (bar about 150 quid) and paid off my debt.

I just want it gone and it seems silly to have it costing me 15 quid a month and being a drain. Also I think with the end of contract looming saving an emergency fund and general savings will be more pressing if you see what I mean.

So it is done. Aside from my regular spends on CC which I will pay on pay day i am out of debt. And as Beanie would say out of debt out of danger.

So I have 1800 in the house account
    150 in the emergency fund
    and 1200 coming from PPI.

    so am ok.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I don't blame you for getting rid of the debt. Debt free with house savings and more to come is a good place to start this next chapter of your life.

How much can you get squirrelled away before your contract ends?

The house fund will get another 200 X 6 =1200, I save 200 in various accounts - Summer, Christmas, Emergency, and something else. What is it.... Insurance!

In theory I should be able to save another 2,000 or at absolute best 2700.

Tired. Bit drunk. Went on a date. Grim beyond grim.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

  • Honestly Beanie, if he asked me once he asked me 15 times if I was feeling frisky... and told me I was young and should have fun, did I want to have fun tonight? And about every date he had ever been on...... Luckily the pub shut early!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
