  • Morning all, I'm at home this morning so hope to get on with some things. DD1 didn't come home last night so dinner is already done for tonight.

Roundtuit red boots or shoes are a must. They go with so much, like you I bought some because I fell in love with them a few years ago and everytime I wear them someone comments on them. They make me feel very positive.

Off to a good start today. So far

    Bed folded back
    Dirty clothes in laundry basket
    Living room tidy
Pellet stove given a good clean out
    WM on

Now going to have breakfast. Man just arrived to start major decluttering work in the garden. I have a few nagging admin tasks that must be done today, am working after lunch and then have my naturalisation/citizenship ceremony at the end of the afternoon so will have to get some glad rags on. But very excited about it.

    Hugs to all

    Morning all.

GWS Jazee - a morning in bed sounds like a good idea.

Hope you coped OK yesterday, mrs-mp. Remember it's OK for the children to know that you are still sad.

    Trust your instincts, Fayolle!

I managed to get to DGS3's birthday lunch yesterday - drove 1.25 hours each way for a 1.5 hour visit, but it was good to see everyone and get lovely hugs from DS2 and DDiL2.

Yesterday evening the Old Wives enjoyed a cupcake decorating session. It was fun using silicone moulds - and much easier to get a neat finish than with royal icing, though I don't much like the taste of the roll-out variety. DH had taken a large bite out of my offering of a sea turtle on a beach before I could get my camera, then made horrid faces at me so that I couldn't take a decent picture to send to our tutor for the evening (who is a friend from church).

This morning DH announced that although he is feeling better because of the ABs, his heart has dropped out of rhythm again, so he may have to go through the same cardiac procedure once more that he had less than a fortnight ago :(

I'd better go and get breakfast and then get on with some work. DH has opted out of SW this morning, so I haven't got to act as taxi driver. The house is tidy, though I might quickly run the hoover round downstairs, as Rosie is bringing in bits of grass on her feet - did I tell you that I mowed the lawn on Sunday? This afternoon I want to start tidying the borders so that my hellebores can be seen in all their glory.

    Bonne journ!e, Mademoiselle!

:D I remember buying a pair of red suede shoes on a whim when I was in my 20s - how I loved those shoes, and I always felt good when wearing them. That is why I had to buy those red suede ankle boots yesterday - they whispered 'buy me'. Initially I ignored them.... but ;).

Exactly what I was thinking Fayolle xx

Second load is ready to hang out. And I've ordered my prescription - using the automated phone prompt thingy  We'll see if they actually pick up the message this time!!!! I've written time and date down ready to fight my corner if required. :o

  • kazwookie, thanks for reminder, I've just booked my long overdue blood test.

Two emails I've been putting off writing have been done and they didn't take long at all. Don't really know why I'd not done them straight away really.

Next job is to find out how to renew passport for DD2, she is now an adult but it's left to mum to sort it out. But more coffee first and see how washing is going.

Morning MadamMim  I see you :D

Second load hung out. Calculations made. New bedding swishing in WM as there is room left to hang it out.

Will strip DS's bed and wash his bedding tomorrow as he will be staying overnight at GF's house. He will return to clean bedding and new pillows :D

    Coffee now.

Just got up. Head and mouth still hurting but trying to eat.

Will do essential dailies in a while.

    How exciting Mademoiselle! Bonne chance.
It is glorious outside although part of me keeps whispering that this isn’t right for February. That said I’m glad to say that 2 loads of washing are dry and a third is swishing atm, then it will go out.
I’ve cleaned the bathrooms and our bedroom, swept and mopped the floors including the kitchen floor and been to the allotment for an hour. Somehow I managed to puncture the wheelbarrow tyre so I have left the barrow there and just spent 20 minutes looking for a new wheel and how to fit it. Tomorrow’s job lined up, then.
Hmmmm - somehow I have managed to fly and yet do nothing from the lists.
Off to make a start at emptying my wardrobe as it’s in the spare RoD which is now even more doom-like with no plaster on the walls.
  • Hi all

Just calling in quickly, need to get back to the paid stuff. Took an extended lunch break to take DSs sick note to job centre for him (I forgot to post it). Now home until 4pm when I will have to go to docs but need to get some more hours in.

Have put chilli in SC, polished shiny bits in bathroom, done two loads of laundry (DH hung them out), and 3.5 hours paid stuff so not bad progress.

Right, need to switch laptops and concentrate!

For the first time ever I truly believe that I can turn this house around :T It won't be a quick fix but I'll keep chipping away :)

You will get there, and it will be exactly as you say - by chipping away.
Two emails I've been putting off writing have been done and they didn't take long at all. Don't really know why I'd not done them straight away really.

Because you thought they'd be more complicated than they were. At least, that's the reason I put things off. I'm almost always wrong, too.

    Healing vibes, Jazee.

    (((Hugs))) Mrs MP.

House quick-sparkled. It will do for today because I'm going to have to shift someone up to my office on Saturday, turn the superking around and generally slow-thorough-sparkle the place properly on Friday. There's a limit on how much time I can spend on it at the moment.
    Better is good enough.
