goodness - was just reading about why the forums disapeared when ... all the lights and computer went out. Panic Panic - did i pay the bill - phone the emergency number - phew power cut. They said it was likely to be a couple of hours so i sent dd back to bed to keep warm, phoned work and pretty much talked myself into a day off when disaster struck ... they all came on again. Bum - will have to go in now albeit late.
dd and i made the citizenship cake last night - decided to do 18 fairy cakes, 6 red, 6 white and 6 blue with silver balls on top so will take those with me and dd and dgs are visiting for lunch. Dgs always storms into the office with a "allwight nana - where's it garlic" - colleague has a big remote controlled dalek on his desk which he loves - he's getting one for his bday - can't wait.I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Scuzz - the outside light would be covered by Health & Safety also - especially if you have to use any outside steps - even if it is just one. My drivers work nights and this is something we are very hot on.
Am now freezing, boiler is now off, cant do cleaning as no hot water - was going to do some paperwork but office is too cold. Think will try and do some ironing see if that warms me up, if not will have to make a log fire & sit in the front room.0 -
Morning everyone, this is the 3rd time iv tried to write a message each time i'm half way through and the pc either switches off on me or freezes up.
It was a bit like a mad house here this morning and oh wasnt in the best of moods think i need to get him to get some time off work so he can see the doctor as around this time last year he was pretty poorly and this is how it started with him being tired all the time which then effects his moods plus i think he getting alot of pain but won't say. Plus i'm feeling a bit crappy and down must be the time of year.
I need to empty the wm and put another load in but i'll get my self a coffee first. for tea we'r having potato wedges , eggs and beansso nice and easy.
Hugs to everyone who needs one net x x x0 -
Morning all,
Wasn't expecting MSE to be back online before 8am or I might have got out of bed earlier.
DH back to work today so it's all systems go with the WM and BM now to catch up on all the work. Will finish my cup of coffee before I heat up that iron and clear the mountain. Treated myself to some of Tescos ironing water (the lavendar one) which smelt lovely in the shop but really nasty when its on clothes. Just used a hankie that I'd ironed before and it made me gringe. That will teacher me not to waste money on that stuff.
Mrs_Mix - enjoy your pottering today; my MIL had the same reaction and it knocked her off her feet for a day or too.
Catowen - hope that the kids don't get you down so much today. Wow us mums go through it sometimes don't we? You just have to read these threads to see that.

Morning all :hello:
Still off work and my throat STILL feels like I'm swallowing sand paper. The doc gave me antibiotics on Monday, so I'm hoping that they kick in soon. Don't particularly want to be carrying on with this for much longer. I'm going stir-crazy at home, so I'll probably have to go back into school tomorrow and just talk to the children in a whisper. Either they'll give me sympathy (I teach Year 2) OR they'll be making the most of me not being able to talk loudly!!!
The upside of being unable to speak is that I've done quite a bit of Christmas shopping online!I've now got to think about what we're getting my SILs (DH's sisters, but he doesn't have a clue). I did suggest for one of them doing a "Movie night in" hamper, using vouchers for Blockbuster but DH didn't think that his sister would really want it. His suggestion for his BIL was a "slap in the face". I'll nip over to the Christmas board for inspiration.
Anyway, I'm going back to bed as I feel exhausted!

Morning everyone.
Hope everyone is ok ,i havent been keeping up like i normally do, i just seem to have so much to do lately.
Todays mission (if i choose to except it!!) is to declutter the house, i seem to be doing this alot lately but dont seem to be getting anywhere, iv ebayed loads of stuff, thrown tons away, but still the casos continues.....the main issue is the washing/ironing, im sick of the kids throwing clean clothes in the basket, im aimming to empty the baskets today and tackle the ironing tommorow.
Plus dh kindly told me this morning he needed the paper part of his driving license for work to photocopy... went to where it is kept and mines there but not his!! Looked in all the place i may have put it and no luck, hes as bad as the kids for leaving things until last minute!! So hes gone to work without it and im hoping it turns up today at some point.
Right off to put lamb in slow cooker for tea and get on with it.
Have fun all

Morning all,
catznine, I’ve been driving myself potty looking for the panny banana bread for you, and I still can’t find it…is this any use to you?
Penny, congrats to ds on his swimming! I bet he was delighted.
Snowy, glad you’re enjoying your time off work and making some headway with the desk. Your table sounds lovely.
Kyle, we had a feature on the local news last night on diabetes. It was very reassuring and informative.
catowen, they all play up at one time or another…when it’s happening to you it feels like it’s been going on forever. Hopefully they’ll settle down again soon.
Peem, loved the poem.
ceridwen, welcome!
Essex girl, mrs mix, Vicki A, luxor4t, this is it’s dh, shez’s dd, jamie’s dd, sorry to read that you all aren’t feeling well. <<hugs>> and I hope you all feel better soon.
It’s a wet and windy horrible day here, which suits me just fine as I’m not planning to leave the house apart from the school run later and work this evening. I was supposed to have had a training day today in manual handling but obviously can't go, so I'm enjoying a bonus day at home.
Ds1 is still fast asleep which is unusual for him as he’s normally an early bird. Even though we woke him at 7am to give him his antibiotics he just turned over and went back to sleep. So I’ve used the time to give the bathrooms a quick swish, and cleaned out and re-laid the fire. Note to self…..cover ash-pan with something before taking it out to the bin on a windy day if you don’t want to look like a snowman.
Thanks to everyone who came up with suggestions for savoury things he can eat. My mind was just a blank and I couldn’t think of anything. It will be banana milk-shake and scrambled eggs for breakfast, if he ever gets up that is! (thanks twink), homemade tomato soup for lunch and cod in a cheese sauce with mash for tea (thanks GB).
Mr Pink is off for a job interview this morning….I’m not sure whether or not I want him to get it as he works very close to home at the moment and comes home for lunch each day and can nip in and out for minor emergencies like sports day. This job is further away and would involve a lot more travelling but he say’s he’s bored in the job he’s in now and wants a new challenge. I expect I’m just being selfish…if he’s fed up with what he’s doing it would be better for him to change.
I’ve just had a quick look at the board and the indexed threads, challenges and lots of older threads still seem to be missing…hopefully the team will find them soon.
To those who are feeling poorly, wrap up well and look after yourselves. To everyone else, I hope you're having a lovely day.

Pink I am SO glad to hear your good news. Sorry I missed the daily yesterday. I spent most of the day with my friend's daughter as it was my friend's graduation day.
I had the honour of being at the graduation and hearing Robert Winston speak which totally made my day.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
