Old Style 14 November

Am I really first  Off to get the thingy.............and it's not there :D
This is an over the wall chat for 14 Nov. Come on in - the more the merrier (that OK :o )

Goooood morning eveyone! My last day at w*** for this week, so I'm happy. Did a short day yesterday, as I needed to run DD to a friend's house as they were off to see My Chemical Romance in concert.

DS was in a swim competition, and won bronze, so he was pleased with that, especially as one of the boys he swims against trains 7 days a week (his brother is in the squad being prepared for the next Olympics, and he'll probably follow suit).

Pink - glad to hear Master Pink is on the mend :j

Shez - hope DD had a good night's sleep :A

Stefejb - will be looking out for you :T

Churchmouse - hope you're feeling better today. Please don't touch anything - you know what happened yesterday  :p:D

Hugs to all of you, Penny. x

morning pen pen and snowy, and all to follow.

Not sure we would be on this early, but thought I would try, off to work today, till 3 so not too bad.

My mum bought me a fresh crab in sainsbugs yeaterday so I had that for lunch and tea yesterday the others had hm curry.

Got wild scotish salmon for tea tonight, sainsbugs sent it with our shopping a few weeks ago, along withother things which we had not ordered :D , at £5 for two small bits I would never have ordered it, so it will be a nice treat.

DD is off to her nans for the night, to give OH and I some 'alone' time ;) , she had her review at school yesterday, and is doing very well, I am very pleased.

Have a good day all xx

Morning all - first page - blimey. Up nice and early but have decided to go into w*rk late and give dd a lie in. Not much on anyway - have to write my annual performance review which i always struggle with but this year have decided to write something along the lines of "i do my job and if I don't I expect my manager not to wait for a whole year to tell me so... " excellent - should be home again by 9:12 :)

have asked exoh to give me the £100 pcm difference between me working full or part time but he has pleaded poverty even though maintenance has not gone up ever since we split 3 years ago ... still he does only take home £3000 poor thing and he's homeless - lives with parents so no bills to pay - I know you're all weeping for him now

breakfast was a sausage sandwich munched on the quiet while veggie dd was sleeping, lunch will be last night's squash and apple curry and tea will be bean casserole
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Tummy feels settled at the moment so managed to get away with the lurgy for a few hours (fingers crossed). Very tired though as builder turned up late to fix timer to boiler and didnt go till very late. Upshot is that electronic timers do no work on our boiler and whilst he was here we discoverd the boiler has a small leak. Luckily the heating is still working and called up B gas and they are coming first thing this morning. We have British Gas Homecare and it has paid for itself the three years we have had it - thats how old the boiler is as well.

So thats my morning sorted - waiting in, hopefully they will come early as meant to be meeting friend for lunch in one of my favourite cafes, however it wont be too bad if I cant go as really do need to get on with a lot of stuff at home.

Some paperwork, ironing and housework will be done at some stage today.

    Have a great day.

    :wave::wave:Hello everyone

I am loooooooving my time off wo*k. Do I really have to go back next week??:(:( It has been fab to get a bit more caught up with the housewo*k, though I am one of those people who flits from one chore to the next without finishing things before moving on. So it's chaos, though slightly more organised chaos than before. I still have to tackle my desk. AussieLass has witnessed it first hand way back in April (was it really that long ago!?) and it has predictably got worse since then. That really is industrial strength procrastination, isn't it?

Redruby - enjoy your salmon this evening. Sainsbury's must really love you to send you expensive food for free.

Stefjb - that comment about your performance review set me off in a fit of giggles. Managers really should get their butts kicked into gear every couple of months, after all the clue is in their job title.

Last night I oiled some new furniture I got - I recently purchased a solid oak dining table & chairs. It looked lovely anyway, but once the oil was on wow, it looked just fantastic. I have been doing without a table and chairs since I moved in here, and I am glad I waited as nothing else I had before would have looked so good. And I am glad I resisted buying cheapo furniture, this stuff is good so it'll last me the rest of my days_pale__pale_ That is a scary thought for some reason...

    Have a fantastic Wednesday everyone.

    Is everyone still asleeep then?:rotfl:

morning anyway, its world diabetes day for those that dont know, this year they are highlighting kids with it etc have yet to see any media stuff though, the bbc was meant to do a feature on kids and schools last night on the news but that got pulled last minute due to not finding a suitable case study.

They wanted a child under 6 when there are loads of older kids with issues with schools:mad:

anyway, ds1 is feeling awful this morn with a sore head, he was lo about an hour ago and last night so will see how he gets on.

pink - so glad ds is home, u must be so relieved, hugs

    Morning all.

PENPEN - congratulations to DS on getting the bronze!

REDRUBY - enjoy your 'alone' time with DH tonight!

STEFEJIB - I don't think I'm weeping for your EX-OH - I'd like to wring his neck. How selfish, when he's earning that much - you'd think he be only too willing to help you out.

Well, DH left at 6.45 - still working in Littlehampton, although he had to work elsewhere yesterday. He missed the cuppa a sweet little old lady has been making for him. REDRUBY - my DH is the one whose painter's overalls are too short (he's 6'4" and they shrunk in the wash - fortunately, for everyone who comes across him, he is wearing jeans underneath!).

Well, panicked again when the forums went down. For those who haven't seen it yet, Our Leader, Martin, has posted an explanation for us. Just goes to show how vital MSE is - I wanted to look for some recipes yesterday and had to resort to other websites!

DGS and DGD invaded me yesterday after school and ransacked my stationery supplies - I now have to buy a new pencil-sharpener, all my paperclips (brand new box, they were!), address labels (they love turning those into badges - especially when nanny ends up wearing something with her date of birth on it!), some rubbers and my 'best' ruler! This year, they won't be able to find my Christmas cards and wrapping up stuff - for the last two years, they've taken enough bows and tags home to save their mum and dad buying any!

WM is on, BM about to go on, SC about to go on with a beef stew (dumplings to be added later) and just looking for inspiration for pudding. I've had a shower, cleaned the bathroom and cleared up the breakfast things. I need to go to the bank and then to the gym and then do yet more filing and tidy my office. I also want to get some more knitting done and start on the Christmas cards - bet I don't get it all done today!

Well, hope Adam is doing well PINK (((Hugs))) to him and all who are suffering the dreaded lurgies - seems to be a lot of poorly ones on here lately.

Anyway, off to peel some veggies for the stew so see you all later. Have a good day.

    Good morning everyone,

Not much happening today - LO should be here in a minute, his mum hasnt rung so hopefully that means he is better. Also have the baby here for the morning, so i will enjoy having them here.

Feeling really down as my 2 are still playing up, my friend has said she might have to have words with them, as they obviously are taking no notice of me.

Hope to get some housework done as well, but been saying that for a few days now, so who knows!!!

((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one.
    Have a lovely day
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
