dont want to put a dampner on your idea, but it always worries me about putting a sample through the door in case a toddler or dog got to it first. if its in a sealed bag it reduces the chance of it falling into the wrong hands (or mouths.....)

Samples are individually sealed. Plastic grip-seal bags are a lot easier to open than sealed samples.

I also have paperclips for keeping things together inside the front cover.

Do people not just say "good luck and try this" any more these days?

I got some bags from the market and canvassed 20 houses with books in bags and not one order! I actually think the bags make the catalogue look cheap and maybe, as someone said, it stops people flicking through and getting interested. So I've stopped doing bags. Most houses where I am have porches anyway, so bags left out aren't going to get wet. A few customers have put the books out in bags themselves anyway.

Apparently I'm a trainee sales leader now which is quite exciting...

    How's everyone's campaign 9 going?

    Hi
Im thinking of selling avon, ive done it before but it was quite a few years ago. Can anyone answer the following questions for me:
    - How much has to be ordered to get commission?
    - How much are books?
    - Does delivery come the same time and day every time? (I work so would have to make sure I was off)
    Thanks

i get my plastic grip seal bags from tesco. they fit well, and, yes,i suppose it can cheapen the look but i have had so many bags ruined when they get rained on. plus being bagged, i find it much easier to put in leaflets and such.

i've signed up as sales leader this week and taken my husband on as my first rep. he's got a territory of 197 houses and we've canvassed 87 and only got 8 orders. a disappointing start i think. hopefully better luck next time.

i just need to get around to finding recriuts now. its not easy is it?

    1> its around £78ish for 20% and £123ish for 25%
2> Books are £4.76 for the first 3 packs (15) then 48p for each pack of 5
3> Delivery always comes the same day , we always get ours by 10.30 am, the driver will have a round and goods loaded on his van in that order so it should be around the same time but not guaranteed

Hi Kirsty, I just started on my first round today and was told differently to Deanos so best check it out with your local area manager. If you submit your details online, they'll get in touch with you asap.

I was told you get 20% commission on orders over £76 and 25% on orders over £144.

I was also told that you don't always get the full commission rate. For example there's a special offer in this campaign brochure where you can buy an antler beauty bag for £10 and the rep only gets 85p commission for this instead of £2.

I was told the same prices for brochures as Deanos quoted though and the same thing about delivery. I thought I'd better mention that I was told differently about commission though as perhaps this varies for some people?
