  • Been starting on a revamp of the house today, went through my books on one of the bookcases in the study and 100 or do books and 30- odd magazines have been recycled/ sent to charity shop or sold to book buying place. One bookcase has been broken down for taking to the tip, another 2 bookcases to go, fortunately most of those books aren't mine. But if any are unwanted and I sell them I will be claiming the money as I put the effort in to sell them.
Currently working through my Lego to do list with the help of OH and DC. Got one box full finished this week and working on the next project.
After that only 1 more Lego kit left and then more space to sort stuff out from the bookcases.

  • I have had to chase up my references for my new job - feels like forever since I was offered the job and I'm starting to think that I'll never get the offer through.
Not made better by the temp job I'm doing not being my ideal job and I don't really enjoy it very much. I'm hoping that I can used accrued leave to reduce my notice period so I don't have to stay too long after I get my offer (if it actually comes through).

  • Only good thing at the moment is I have a couple more payments until I'm debt free.
Have to hope nothing important happens to my car/house/other possessions in the next few years so I can build up some savings.

  • Still not heard about the new job yet, really starting to worry, but there isn't much else I can do since I've chased up my references.
On the plus side I've rung the AA to stop the automatic renewal of my membership as I get membership with my car service plan so I wound up double covered last year, but not this year! Saved me just short of £60, so not too bad.
The Harry Potter Great Hall in lego has now been done after sitting in a box for a year and a bit. Just a lego mini to do and all my lego kits will be done and I don't have any more to make up.
Have been doing receipt hog for a while, and have requested £16 of amazon vouchers as pay out for uploading receipts. That will go on my amazon account to set against probably stuff for next xmas as I prefer to spread the spending over a year so I don't have to find a load of money at once.
The emptying of the study is nearly finished, hundreds of items binned or charity shopped over the last couple of weeks, just a day of tip runs next weekend to chuck out old, unwanted (BHF turned it down) and wrecked furniture.

  • Finally got an appointment for my pre-employment screening check, so hopefully this is the last hurdle on the way to starting the new job. Current temp job finishes in 3 weeks so I'm hoping its all sorted with a start date by then.
Went outlet and sales shopping today so I now have all Christmas gifts sorted for OH and DC. Also have in laws sorted for Xmas, so just parents and sibling to sort out.
Other gifts to sort between now and Xmas are one parent and sibling, so I am fairly organised this year.

  • Currently working on an online qualification, I wasn't going to do any more as I get bored of them easily but OH decided to do one which encouraged me to sign up.
He never got round to it, but I committed to one and now I want to get it over and done with as soon as possible, then definitely no more courses.

Decluttering the house has been going ok, one room has more or less been gutted and several trips to the tip and charity shops have cleared out most of the junk from that room.

I have got rid of some book on a book selling site and have made about £20, which has gone towards some bits and pieces for xmas gifts.

  • Final assignment sent in for my online qualification (at last), hopefully I won't have too many corrections to do.
Have sold another 20ish books to an online buyer, another £30ish will be landing in my bank account soon.
Lots of decluttering done, hopefully once OH gets the spare room finished there will be enough book cases to get all my books put away without having to stack them in piles round the house.
Another loan payment made today, only a couple left until I am debt free (apart from the mortgage).

Hey chocolate drinker I’ve just read your whole diary! Well done on the job and on the repayments. Nearly there! I’ll keep reading with interest!
  • Long time since I last posted. So, I've done 4 weeks in my new job - still settling in, but its going ok so far. I've been taking all my various medications every day since I started the new job and apart from new glasses I'm feeling better than I was.
One last payment to go on my car and it will be all mine! It's going in for its MOT on Monday, fingers crossed that it doesn't cost too much to get it through!
The decluttering has been going on gradually, I've taken a lot of stuff to the charity shop/clothing bank as well as recycling and throwing stuff out. Also I've sorted a lot of stuff out from my child's room as well but we still have far too much stuff.
The aim for the rest of the year involves sorting out as many rooms in the house as possible, getting rid of as much rubbish as I can, and trying to ensure everything has somewhere to be stored so the house is finally tidy.
