A long wait when I called the back but.. they recognised my phone number and sent me a OTP to read back to them. They did not ask for any passcode or pin details. Instead they asked what devices I was using and my browser details and activity . They asked more general risk questions about my payee savings account and advised me they would take no further responsibility if I now authorised the transfer which is fair enough. Apart from the inconvenience I am more than happy with them.
You were lucky that it was actually Natwest but I would recommend you don't trust it next time. I had a 100% definite fraudster ring me from "Santander" the other day (spoofed number), and when I asked for proof that he was who he said he was, he offered to send an OTP. This OTP duly arrived - apparently from Santander, too, number spoofed again. I terminated the call and rang the Santander fraud department who confirmed my suspicion that it was a fraudster.5 -
Still waiting for Santander from last wednesday 7.50 am , email advised three working days so I suppose there is still a chance .0

k_man said:How quick are payments made into Cynergy Easy Access shown in the account?
I made 2 payments (both small) over the weekend via faster payments, and neither are showing.
I know savings accounts often take longer to show deposits, but the details from Cynergy state:
If your Bank uses the 'Faster Payment' service your payment should arrive within minutes.
suggesting there isn't the usual saving account clearing delay.
Note: this is a newly opened account.0 -

Barclays Blue Rewards -
(Relevant as it gives access to the Rainy Day Saver - £5000 easy access with 5% interest.)
I opened a Barclays Current Account two weeks ago. I paid in £800 by faster payment from Chase on 5 October. I then signed up for Blue Rewards, and opened the Rainy Day Saver. I then transferred a further £4200 from my Lloyds current account, also by faster payment.
Today, I received an email from Barclays telling me I haven't satisfied the criteria for paying in £800 this month.
Looking in detail at the credits in online banking, they are showing up as "Counter Credits". The code in the app is BGC.
I spoke to someone on the phone just now. She said regular payments from an external account by Standing Order do count, but ad hoc deposits by Faster Payment do not. She said the credit should be coded as "FPO".
The T&Cs say "Regular payments set up as standing orders or direct debits from your personal Barclays accounts, a Barclays Business Account or your non-Barclays accounts will count towards your qualifying amount". (The T&Cs are silent on Faster Payments in.)
I will now set up a Standing Order from Lloyds to make sure I get the £5 reward for this month (which simply offsets the fee for joining Blue Rewards).

Think she's garbled this bit... which is irrelevant to deposits by transfer from external banks:
Blue Rewards Terms & Conditions | Barclays
When working out how much you have paid into your nominated bank account, we won’t count:
- one-off internal transfers between Barclays accounts in your name, including any joint accounts or savings accounts.
