If you make a deposit into your account before 1pm on a working day, funds will show on your account by close of business the same day. If your deposit is made after 1pm, funds will show by close of business the following day.

As Saturday is not a working day it would be Monday.

Thanks.  I noticed it said that in their T&C's but was reading a review when someone said otherwise.

Just for info. Last weekend I sent a test payment to Gatehouse easy access. It was sent on Sat morning and was showing in the account within about 3 hours. I sent another payment after 1:00pm and it was showing in th account early Sunday morning. A third payment sent on Sunday showed Monday morning.

I've gone ahead and made a payment just now - hopefully it will show up later today.

The Bank of England has postponed a key decision on interest rates following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

It said that "in light of the period of national mourning", the Monetary Policy Committee's decision would now be announced at midday on 22 September.

The Bank had widely been expected to increase rates on Thursday 15 September.

Gatehouse is a bank with its own licence.

So they are. I assumed (!) that institutions that banked elsewhere (Gatehouse is with Barclays) and required you to put their account number for you in the reference field did so because they did not have their own banking facility / systems / licence. FPS only takes the payment into Gatehouse's own account, it then needs to be reallocated. Kudos to them that they do that over a weekend. Someone mentioned previously that this is a manual process for them. Glad you got the result you wanted.

Could anyone comment on the pros and cons of the two accounts please.

My intention is to operate the account online via a pc.
