My profuse apologies they sent me an email saying they had increased their fixed rates and 12 months was now 2.85%. Just logged into app and is showing as 2.69%. Only opened a few days ago which caused me to get confused. Sorry for posting incorrect information

Looking to move my savings to an account where im not getting 0.1% interest!

What would people suggest is the best for easy access?

Also should I wait due to interest rates going up or move now and hope for the best!

I'd move now. 0.1% interest is abysmal and if rates rise you can just move it again. As for the best easy access, see soulsaver's post on page 644 of this thread. I'd also look at regular savers as many of those are easy access and a few beat all of these easy access accounts.

I was looking at the Virgin Money 1.71% savers but I see it requires a current account and 2 direct debits set up. Is moving bank that easy these days? As i am 31 now and been with Halifax since i was 16!

Chase , atom , Shawbrook all easy to open with 1.5 , 1.35 , 1.75 rates. I opened a Shawbrook yesterday and just had to forward basic details on along with my HSBC details for withdrawals.
Shawbrook min £1000 though and min £500 withdrawal.
chase works for me really well on my iPhone .
  • Also chase 1% cash back on most purchases . Just waiting for them to up % rate now to stay competitive but I’ve had no issues and will keep a/c open regardless.

Masetw you do not need direct debits for Virgin Current Account. Sometimes Virgin has special offers for transferring your account

With shawbrook you can put in less than £1000

its just you only get 1.75% once you deposit a minimum of £1000
  • Yes correct £1000 to get higher rate , thanks ranciduk

Went with Al Ryan at 1.8% for first pot of savings.
September pot will go into Shawbrook at 1.75%.
Until at least December, hoping for 4-5% for a 5 year fixed.
Don’t mind a short term loss, as I believe rates will keep rising.
