The Shawbrook Easy Access Account (issue 29) is now paying 1.75%

Interesting (as posted on the banking board), that means Premium bond yield is the same as this for basic rate taxpayers.

and also that means the likes of the Halifax Reward current account that paid £5 every month, you might be better off keeping it in a savings account (again)...
You are and always were. But that's a discussion for another thread... and been done a fair few times already.

I got impatient waiting to see other interest rates rise and opened a Shawbrook account :)
Early verdict: Easy to open new account but website navigation not the best. Transferred £1k from Nationwide and now waiting for it to show up in the new account. Then will transfer rest from Chase, via Nationwide.

I'm doing the exact same thing.  Pleased to see how quickly the account was open and viewable online - it was instant.  The initial deposit is taking a while to show, however.

Yeah it's been half an hour now. Also, website still proving not to be the best - logs me out if I try to view more than one of the messages on my account. Hopefully once I've put all my savings into it, I won't have a need to use the website often!

So Shawbrook didn`t increase by .5%, doesn`t bode well for people waiting on others to move their rates!

Full cut downwards but only half upwards.

Tandem has just increased to 1.65% (instant access).

A 0.3% increase, but wasn't expecting the full 0.5% Base Rate rise to be passed on. At least they acted quickly.

Someone said earlier (when I was thinking of opening a Shawbrook account) that the funds show up the next day if made before 2:30pm.  That is what put me off opening an account and why I'm holding out for some of the others to increase their rates soon.

Still sitting with Virgin at 1.71 rather than Shawbrook at 1.75 (would need to open). Willl wait a while for things to settle, or new ones pop up

From memory its SAME day if before 2:30.....NEXT day if after ...... but i's a long time since I made a deposit!

I had a large chunk with them which matured and I moved to their instant access about two weeks ago, so was VERY pleased to get the text and see them go ToTP today !!

Ah, I must have missed that - thanks.  Can cope with waiting 24 hours.
