Well spotted.
I cba for rate increases that minimal though. Still have several easy access accounts paying more.
Might reconsider Tesco Bank when they become competitive again. Meanwhile .......

Zopa Smart Saver
Joined in with the hype around this provider and have opened an account and created a 95 day notice pot, activated straight away, showing funds available 3 Oct 2022. Fits in okay with my savings strategy.
Of note though, was the time it takes for my bank transfers to reach my Zopa account.
Not unmanageably long, however, a lot slower than many other providers I have accounts with.
For example, the money from my Atom to Monzo was instant.
Monzo to Zopa, however, twenty minutes.
Like I say, something I can cope with when money not needed to be moved instantly. May annoy others.1 -
Not sure how 20 minutes transfer time could annoy someone. You want to try those banks where it is next day. And remember it wasn't long ago that transferring money meant a car or bus journey into town, queuing in a bank to move a few quid from one account to anotherwiseonesomeofthetime said:Zopa Smart Saver

Easily! As many banks manage to do it literally instantaneously, 20 minutes can certainly be frustrating. Sure, it's blazing fast if we judge it by standards from 30 years ago, but by today's standards, it can be pretty slow.Malchester said:

It's a lot less than 30 years since payments took 3 working days. Faster Payments didn't start until May 2008. Quite a few companies are still not signed up to FP, or are using a slow version of FP where payments don't arrive until the next working day.Mr._H_2 said:

Indeed, this is true. I was referring to the "having to make a car journey and stand in a queue" comparison.Daliah said:

Anyone had any experience or can offer the best way to deal with Sainsbury’s Bank? We sent them two letters (in the same envelope) so we know they got them – one from my wife and one from me to close her account and our joint account in early June. They eventually wrote to me asking me to call them which I did – that was painful and after a bit of to and fro I asked why the letter wasn’t sufficient to close the account as it has the details they needed. Geezer said he’d call back – that’s was a week ago. And my wife has heard nothing at all.
Tried calling again yesterday and listened to half an hour of their music, which of course is why we wrote letters, as our online access is not working.
So, is (or should) a letter be sufficient to close an account? I know they are being careful, but even so, the account details are the ones they already have on record.
And are Sainsbury’s Bank always like this?

Regarding the Zopa smart saver account, does anyone know if it's possible to add funds to an already existing boosted pot after you've given notice on it, say for instance 30 days into a 95 day notice? My instincts would say No, but it did allow me to move more money into it 3 days after giving notice without changing the date when funds are accessible, so I'm not sure.0
