Opened a Gatehouse Easy Access account on 26 May, but I am still waiting for the letter to provide my login details. I needed to send in some identity documents, so this is likely to have delayed things for a week/two maybe (identify was verified over two weeks ago), but is anyone else experiencing considerable delays in opening accounts with Gatehouse?
EDIT: Just for completeness, communications with GH simply say they are busy with applications.I opened one of these a while back. No issues at all, and no identity doc to send.If i had to wait that long before the account would be opened, i'd probably be looking elsewhere. There are others paying 1.4%+ at the minute including Al Rayan,Virgin,Check out Soulsaver's ToTP tables on this same thread.0 -

https://www.securetrustbank.com/savings/access-accounts/access-accountNo matter what the banks rules are I always send a £1 test. In this case the £1 didn’t pass go so I followed up with a £1000 deposit which has now cleared after 24 hours. Question is where is my £1, it seems it hasn’t been returned to my donor account. I hope the Banks CEO is not having a free lunch on my account...

Just to clarify - do you think they rejected the initial £1 test transaction because it was less than the £1000 minimum operating balance ? If so, that would seem a bit harsh.Thumbs_Up said:wiseonesomeofthetime said:

I pretty sure Kent reliance and Shawbrook bank had the same rules but the £1 test seemed to work so I wasn’t expecting any difference with Secure Trust bank....Lets see what happens to the missing pound.

Thanks. The reason I asked is that many banks obviously having minimum operating balances for their accounts, but I've not come across many other accounts with similar restrictions on deposits. Imposing a £1000 minimum opening deposit when you're (presumably) not part of the CoP scheme (and especially when there are accounts elsewhere paying around the same rate or higher but without any deposit restrictions) means I would just look elsewhere, personally.soulsaver said:Key Features - immediately under min operating balance £1000, in big letters minimum opening deposit £1000.

Yes, I think I did the same with a Shawbrook Easy Access ISA - sent an initial £1 test deposit followed straight away with a larger amount once the test deposit got through - it wasn't automatically rejected.Thumbs_Up said:I pretty sure Kent reliance and Shawbrook bank had the same rules but the £1 test seemed to work so I wasn’t expecting any difference with Secure Trust bank....Lets see what happens to the missing pound.
