murphydavid said:It then asked "what was the credit limit on a credit card you took out in 2007". That's 15 years ago and no mention of what card it was or what bank so it took me some time trying to find out.Unbelievable idiots! I don't remember the limits even for the cards I use regularly now.Was it an application for a 'Saver' or for both current and savings account? Hope, I am lucky to have my current account acquired from YB and it will be easier to finish my application for a savings account after I overcome my current obstacle.

Sorry, it looks like there’s been a technical problem. While we’re sorting it out, please call us instead on 0800 678 3654.
I hate this "something" and "we are sorting it out".Runt over.I have M AccountAfter logging in I select 'Products' in the top bar, then 'Savings' on the next page. This opens in the new tab where I select "Easy access savings", then "Virgin Money M Plus Account"."Apply for personal account" and "I already have and M, M Plus or Club M Account" - on the next page. Then I have to log in again (despite remaining logged in in the old tab) - don't get me started! Then, on the next page I see my details and after adding some keep getting the above "technical problem".Is it worth trying a different browser (I use FF)?YorkshireBoy posted a link on page 7 of the 'Virgin Money linked savings account' thread which he'd been sent by VM and was for use by people who already had an M Plus current account, but not the linked saver.
The link worked fine for me as well.I'd guess the 'technical problem' is VM's application process not being able to handle non-standard situations.2 -

Got through the many pages and questions; some of which I thought were unnecessary and personal. Then it did the we are checking you out thingy presumably a credit check. It then asked "what was the credit limit on a credit card you took out in 2007". That's 15 years ago and no mention of what card it was or what bank so it took me some time trying to find out. (Failed as I only keep records for 6 years). Came back ready to take a guess only to find I was timed out and no indication of a reference to get back in.
Started again.
They recognized it was my second attempt and after many more questions said the only way to proceed was by snail mail so I'm waiting for the post man.
Have to say I won't be continuing with them I have lost confidence in their ability to provide a decent service.
Hence they should had said "what is the credit limit on the credit card you took out in 2007?" You can readily get this info from your credit report.
I remember a massive thread with numerous problems when the VM 2.00% current account was launched a few years ago. I wasn't bothered for £20.00 interest per year, but in the end applied to see it I could get one. In the end, the application was accepted immediately. I am glad now that I did open it then, with them twice having a market leading rate on the linked saver.1 -

This system of asking you questions from your credit report is used by several financial services groups and has been for many years.

I always open my credit reports from each of the 3 CRAs before applying for any financial product or government site (eg HMRC).2 -
I opened my V+ a while ago but remember the questions being a bit random. One I really couldn’t remember and my answer/guess obviously didn’t match my credit report so I had to wait for a letter through the post. Not the end of the world but can’t help thinking that their process hasn’t been very well thought through.0

You need to open a new account. It only takes a few moments, and then you can choose the option to close your old account if you wish, and transfer the funds to the new account. Will the interest earned to date also transfer to the new account if you close the old?Yes, it will be.Some of us on here have had to do this more than 10 times now as they keep on increasing the rate a tiny bit at a time.
At least it was quick and easy to do with the fast application. Does it always show the closed account in negative interest balance and the new account with credited interest?Yes it always does that for a day or so for some strange reason. It must be a quirk of their computer system.0 -

And they seem to be working very hard, but still were not able to solve this huge problem since March at least. For the record, without this link, in another browser there wasn't this problem, but I was forced to apply for a M Plus current account, that I already have. With all nonsensical questions about the income, outgoings etc.

Make a note of the negative interest balance to note paid interest this tax year - as it can be hit and miss viewing closed account paid interest to date by clicking on the closed account.
Also, some of us on here keep an old account open to save having to change the account number in your linked account - this was due to Cynergy bringing out a new account every few days with a slightly improved interest rate - it does mean you do have to login to your Cynergy accounts and move the money over manually to the new issue.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk1 -
Anyone know how to get a statement from Zopa? They've been a bit useless so far but I need one as soon as possible.
