Tesco Internet Saver now 1.26% (1.01% bonus and 0.25% standard)
4 -
It's a shame Tesco release new issues rather than simply increasing the rates of existing accounts - I'd probably still have one if that was the case, but have opened higher-paying alternatives (who do apply increases to existing accounts) since then instead.
Saying that, I phoned Tesco yesterday afternoon to close two old Internet Savers and got through instantly - literally no waiting on hold at all ! After going through the usual security checks, the two accounts were closed within minutes and bonus interest was transferred immediately to my linked current account (different bank) so I was very impressed with their customer service.
You can actually close these Internet Saver accounts by submitting a PDF online but as this can take a while (many weeks) and there was no mention of how the bonus interest would be dealt with, I preferred to get it sorted straight away by phoning instead.2 -
AndyTh_2 said:As mentioned in the Marcus thread, Marcus has increased their savings bonus to 0.25% if you renew, bringing the total to 1.3% interest
I've edited the existing in case anyone reads it before getting to here.1 -

Does anyone know if Virgin do a credit check to open the linked M Saver if you already have the current account?
Thanks in advance

HsBut some people may have closed the M saver, or if their current account was previously with Yorkshire/Clydesdale then they weren't automatically given an M Saver when the current account was converted to an M Plus.In answer to homestraight - I didn't see anything in my credit files when I added the M Saver to my ex-Yorkshire account, but if it is important to you then you might want to check with Virgin first.1
