Challenger banks more agile than established banks

    That's a sweeping - and unsubstantiated - generalisation.

The generalisation was that challenger banks are more agile. Issues on withdrawing money have been discussed in this thread - see posts 3527, 3534, 3537 - and here:

It is still a sweeping generalisation to say that all challenger banks have problems when it comes to withdrawing money. You can say that some of the banks (and name them) don't operate faster payments. You can say that some of the banks (and name them) have convoluted processes for withdrawals. Your claim, however, was a sweeping generalisation.

Coventry are increasing their rate to 1.5 from Sept which compares well. But opening IS a bit slow.

Apply online then wait for letter in post.
Sign and return letter and wait for account details in post
At this point you can transfer in, but no online access till you create password online, then wait for user ID...... in the post.

Could all be a bit more slick.

I had the same experience. A rather long drawn out process.
