I can't see anything to indicate they intend to apply the increase to existing accounts... or not.

Interesting - CovBS CS has just informed that that they will apply the new rate to the existing LA savings accounts. Great for me, I'd opened one t'other day.

When asked if I should wait until Sep 1 to open a 2nd as it will be at the new rate for a year from then - she said it is no longer available.

A new version is to be launched ...... at 1.4%!

Well... I suppose it rewards existing customers..

Looks like it will apply to existing accounts. Limited Access Saver, Year 1: Currrent rate 1.40%, new rate 1.55%. That looks clear enough to me.

oh dear. I'm still in week 1 of application. Just seen the postie take away my envelope with £1 cheque in it.

I applied July 17th. Waiting on final letter from them to allow online access. Am expecting another bank to offer better rate any day now... haha

Just double checked and I applied to B.Midshires on 1st Aug, so I'm a ways behind you.
Wonder how fast transfers in/out of Birmingham Midshire take? Is it the usual "within 3-4 working days" sort of thing? Anyone know?

Unless B'ham Midshires offer a fantastic rate, why bother with them if it is so complicated, to set up the account, and then get your money back?
