Exactly. And last time I dealt with them, a better account came along while I waited for them to open my new account. This time, we'll see...0 -

I can't see anything to indicate they intend to apply the increase to existing accounts... or not.0 -

Interesting - CovBS CS has just informed that that they will apply the new rate to the existing LA savings accounts. Great for me, I'd opened one t'other day.
When asked if I should wait until Sep 1 to open a 2nd as it will be at the new rate for a year from then - she said it is no longer available.
A new version is to be launched ...... at 1.4%!
Well... I suppose it rewards existing customers..0 -

Looks like it will apply to existing accounts. Limited Access Saver, Year 1: Currrent rate 1.40%, new rate 1.55%. That looks clear enough to me.0

Opening a Birmingham Midshires Easy Access account should come with a health warning that it'll take at least a full month from application to account activation. Insane...
Guess I'll have a while to wait then ... :doh::doh:0 -
oh dear. I'm still in week 1 of application. Just seen the postie take away my envelope with £1 cheque in it.

I applied July 17th. Waiting on final letter from them to allow online access. Am expecting another bank to offer better rate any day now... haha0 -

Wonder how fast transfers in/out of Birmingham Midshire take? Is it the usual "within 3-4 working days" sort of thing? Anyone know?0
