Being utterly fed up with interest rates I just applied for a 123 for use as savings acct, am now kicking myself for not checking topcashback first! Will think about that later. I had never heard of vantage, just had a look at BoS (where I have my 'reward' current acct) and the application suggests you can't apply for classic + vantage if you already have a current acct with BoS. Can of course apply for Lloyds, but wonder how people get three per bank?? Grateful if someone can clarify, am desperately needing a home for a windfall.0

You can have up to 3 Classic with Vantage (some have more than this) even if you hold Reward accounts with Halifax.0 -

I just did a financial catch-up with daughter, who's two terms into her degree course. She gets minimum maintenance loan, so we have to top up, but I'm trying to minimise this to force her to budget.
She's done pretty well so far and will have some money left over at the end of the year. The best home I could find for this was a Skipton account at 1.5% or another Santander esaver (issue 10) at 1.25%.
Ah well.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

yep, though I can't lay my hands on where it says so on their website. It's easy to find on the Lloyds website, though, and the BoS Vantage is a straight copy.
There's a thread on BoS Vantage somewhere with more detail.
I just had a conversation with Lloyds because historically I had 3 Vantage Accounts but moved the money when they started all that DD nonsense
Its now gone back to the original rules - the old
a to b
b to c
c back to a
I asked why they had not let customers know that this had changed back and he told me he gets told the same thing at least once a day and every time he fills in a complaint form - and nothing is done about it!!
So now its
3 X Santander 123
3 X Lloyds Vantage
3 X BOS (or it will be by Tuesday)
Might be losing 2 X Halifax Reward as I have run out of DD after Santander
Is there a list somewhere of DD's (not the normal ones) you can set up for Halifax?
It would be a shame to lose the free £120 pa0 -

What's wrong with the savings accounts DD list (that you said was "Exact thread I was looking for ")? Any DD can be set up to draw money from any bank, nothing special for Halifax. Of course they insist on DDs that pay monthly but it's not hard to set these up.0 -

Which account is that, please?
We're happy with just a single 123 as most of our cash is in NS&I linkers with more in a Cahoot 3.6% 1 yr bond, but as Santander are "customer service challenged" we'd love to spread the love.
Lloyds aren't an option as they foreclosed on one of my businesses in the early 90s. As I left the manager's office, I dropped my trousers and told Lloyds to kiss my rosy cheeks goodbye forever. Yes, I was young and foolish, prone to symbolic gestures and whipping my pants off at a moments notice, and had rosy cheeks. I'm also a man of my word.
(I bend this word to cover me holding some of their legacy subordinated capital, but that's because I get 10% pa on what I invested and I know these issues cause them pain.)I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
