Coventry BS, Online Saver (4). Currently 2%, incl bonus in 1st year. Covered by FSA. We could put £85K into here; no other money under this FSA license.
I hate to say it, but I think you would be better off investing upto £20k into the Santander 123 a/c (you will have to put ino this a/c monthly, but who's to say you ca't recycle the £500 monthly?
Then start spreading the rest.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I am thinking to open Classic Vantage account with Lloyds. I don't have any experience with this bank but 3.0% AER sounds not bad. Any thoughts?0

Plenty of information on this Forum about the Lloyds Vantage, you just need to search for it.
Google advanced search is better than the forum search.0 -
I've just noticed that Skipton BS are offering a instant access savings account (Online Bonus Saver Issue 3) with 2.0% for 12 months. There is a minimum opening and operating balance of £1000 but unlimited withdrawals.
I think it's new but apologies if it's old news.0 -
By just reading the information from this forum, I'm learning and having an idea of getting an ICICI Hi Save Account. Thanks for all the info posted.0

Nationwide Building Society have just advised me of a Cash ISA at 2.25%, which accepts transfers in. You should enquire about this one if your old ISA has dropped its rate after 1 year, which most of them do. You will then keep the tax-free allowance."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

2% is a terrible rate if you can get 3, and even 5%, in current accounts.0 -

This one doesn't accept transfers in

This one does, but needs opening deposit/xfer £1000 and only pays 2.25% on balance £10k

Or have you been told about another one?0 -
Are we all mad? Scratting around looking for a “savings” account with an “attractive” interest rate that really means our money isn’t haemorrhaging away quite just as fast through inflation. They’re having a giraffe!0

I agree - the difference between 1.75 and 2.00 % is insignificant for most of us - the important question should be "the mattress or bank" - I am considering the former at the moment - easy access too !!0
