Cynergy bank in Easy Access recommendation requires a smartphone which isn't stated on the main page (app to authenticate who you are. They won't even send you login details until you've made a minimum deposit)

A smartphone is not necessary, they will send out a little 'digipass' device if you want,

    Thanks all!

Thanks allegro, that's why I haven't opened the 5.2% Ulster as it doesn't feel like easy access if I have to keep £5k in it. A couple more £1 openers could be a good idea.
You are welcome. Ulster Loyalty Saver is a true easy access.  You can pay in and out from and into any accounts you want and money arrive instantly like you would expect from a conventional current account.  It's basically the same as Santander issue3, the only difference is that there is no option for monthly interest.  You don't have to keep £5k in, there's no minimum balance requirement.  The only inconvenience is that your interest is paid on a tired basis, so there is no point having any less than £5k there, therefore not useful for savers with smaller budgets.
There's also a £20k daily limit on withdrawals though. Other than that, a great account

Unless it’s changed v recently there is also a higher one off payment limit of £50k if you have face biometrics set up on the app but it’s restricted to only one a day / two a week / four every 28 days.

The digital channels daily limit does reset at 6.30pm Mon-Fri (excluding Bank Holidays) so if you time it right you can withdraw £40K in one calendar day if needs be, although you'll have to wait until 6.30pm the following banking day before you can withdraw any more. It's a useful hack for the odd occasion where you need access to more than £20K in a calendar day and can afford to wait to the evening for the second tranche.

You have to call customers services on a 0345 number or order of those annoying little things. Investec is another that wants a smartphone. Either way I opened an account elsewhere its not worth the hassle.

Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.

Yet I saw a headline earlier that said mortgage rates on their way back up (I didn't read the detail which may well have been less dramatic).

It seems I forgot to mention this the other day but now that the 4.9%ers are being included in the top EA list, the Tandem Instant Access Saver at 4.9% (includes 0.25% variable top up) (£1 min) now qualifies for inclusion in the list.
I can see why this has been added to the No Chat thread now :+1:

Without the above context, I thought I had time travelled because mine went to that back on 6 March
