After a severe attack of FOMO I now have a Skipton base rate tracker savings account...2

I can confirm you can open the 5.23% account as an existing customer. Online banking only, not via the app.I had a slight panic as at the end of the application, they said the account was now open, and they had taken my opening deposit from my existing account, as requested by me. But there was no sign of the new account, not even after logging out and in again.Turns out it takes about 5 minutes before the new account does show, so panic over now.It is also easy to close an existing account, by transferring the balance to the new account.1

Just looked at opening the Metro EA 5.22% online. According to the blurb I would need original photo id and be able to take a selfie! Given their other issues I went no further with the application process. I have EA accounts ranging from 5.15% - 5.23% so no pressing need.1

Do Gatehouse apply payments sent into the EA over the weekend?
i sent a £1 test payment from my nominated account about 1ish this afternoon but not yet arrived at Gatehouse. I checked & double checked all account details before sending the test payment.0 -

Looks like they only process deposits and withdrawals on working days. I was going to move my balance from Ulster Bank to Gatehouse but at Ulster I get 24 x 7 instant deposits and withdrawals, so I'll stick with 5.2% at Ulster for the convenience.

In my experience - Deposits made before 1pm arrive on the same day. Deposits made after 1pm should show by close of business the following day. This includes weekends.SickGroove said:Do Gatehouse apply payments sent into the EA over the weekend?
