if you had told me about 18 months ago I would be getting over 5% on my EA accounts I would never have believed it

That's why there is the *No Chat* version of the top EA accounts thread.  Salient non-chat posts are added to the thread, but the important bit is post no.2 on the first page which is a summary of all the current best rates - updated a few days ago - maybe just stick to reading that post if you want to avoid 'nonsensical banter':
