On my android phone it does a screenshot if I hold the down-volume and power buttons at the same time. Presume most phones have similar.
I think the problem being alluded to is that most bank apps don't allow you to take screenshot within the app, for security purposes - even if your phone is perfectly capable of doing so.

I've only experienced this with Android. In my experience iOS and iPadOS don't have this restriction.

It was a pop up in the app.  I tried to screenshot but it wouldn't let me. No money has gone out of the account yet.  It has a zero balance though.

Same as this one I got? I wouldn't worry about it, think they didn't consider the fact that many of us haven't "qualified" to pay the fee, and just sent it out to everyone regardless.
Also looking through the key facts why would anyone put any money in the edge current to cover fees.  If you go overdrawn because of the fee there are no overdraft charges to pay.
Because it’s not clear what would happen to your credit file if you were to go into the unauthorised overdraft. Doesn’t feel like a big deal having £3 in there just in case.
You'd generally need to maintain an unauthorised overdraft for a late payment status to be reported on your credit file. You might see a credit balance of -£3 reported if it was applied close to the date Santander reports to a CRA and not cleared in time.
Personally, I'm happy to take the risk and endeavour to act on an alert same day, which would prevent both scenarios. Ultimately, they don't currently have provision to charge the fee in the T&Cs, so I'd be challenging it anyway.

On my android it doesn't take the shot when in the santander app 'for security reasons' it says to me.

I used an iphone, never been restricted from taking screenshots in any banking app.

Because Android is open source, app developers can choose what you can or can't do. IOS on the other hand is locked to what Apple decide is good for you.

Not only app developers, telcos are free to interact with Android as they wish - hence the mess that Wi-Fi Calling/Vo4G has become. On IOS it just works because Apple says it has to work our way or not at all.
