'Err 404 Page not found' NLA?

I think the Chorley BS North West & Loyalty Easy Access is now NLA - which would make sense if the above is still available.

Yep - I'll unwind my comments for now - and hope someone gets through the application successfully and reports back as such.

Email from Chorley BS today -
We're writing to let you know of some changes to your Easy Access Saver (1 withdrawal account).
From the 18th December 2023, if you choose to make more than one withdrawal, the account will be transferred to our Chorleian account and will no longer revert to your Easy Access Savers (1 withdrawal) account in the following January.  Please note that the Chorleian account is an easy access account with no withdrawal restrictions.

This seems to be just the generally available Easy Access (1 Withdrawal) account. No notice about the NW and Loyalty account (NLA) being changed as well. New EA (1W) accounts have this condition in from the start.

So this is not just 1 withdrawal a year but 1 in the life of the account. Also under the previous rules you could have made a 2nd withdrawal on 31st December and the account would have reverted back to the 5.3% rate the next day (new year) - no longer an option as account converted to another type of account.
  • Had a secure message from Santander today to said -

"When we transferred your account to a Santander Edge Current Account, we might not have sent you a copy of the key document which summarises information about the account.

We're sorry about this and want to make sure that you have all the information for your account. We've attached the latest Key Facts Document for you.

Please read this document and keep it for future reference. There are no chances to your account or the way it works."

is this the first contact about them trying to nudge me to put the 2DDs on the account?

It would appear they're experimenting with just how little flexibility they can get away with offering in an 'easy access' account and still stay at the top of the easy access table.

I've long-thought that savings accounts with a limited number of withdrawals should have their own savings account category to distinguish them from easy accounts with unlimited withdrawals.

There are so many easy access accounts with different sets of conditions - totally unlimited deposits and withdrawals, totally instant access, next day transactions, reasonable rate but only for a year, bonus rate for a limited time or renewable, limited withdrawals after which loss of interest, limited withdrawals full stop, monthly or annual interest...........

It makes it just that it more difficult choosing the right account

Having opened both the North West and the Easy Access (1 Withdrawal) accounts, and despite their T's&C's saying "Other Easy Access Accounts can be held alongside this account.", it seems that what they really mean is that you cannot have more than one (! Withdrawal) account.

Unfortunately you cannot hold two 1 withdrawal accounts, as you already have the North West & Loyalty Easy Access Saver you are unable to open the Easy Access Saver (1 Withdrawal)."
