Has anyone who opened a Santander Edge account on15th August, for monthly interest, received interest yet?
Re my earlier post, just a bit concerned because, though I converted an existing current account I had to the Edge current account, I didn't pay in the £500+/month and don't have the 2+ direct debits on it.  I know there was quite a lot of discussion back on the 15th August about Santander's qualifying for interest terms.
I too await confirmation of this one way or another. I opened mine 17/08

Thanks ColdIron, could you post here whether or not you do get your interest, please?
    Santander Edge Saver 7.00%
    £22.29 received today
Interestingly I opened the account 17/08. Interest received early 17/09 but dated 18/09 and transfer to Edge Saver dated 17/09
I too received £22.29, opened, funded, and interest received on the 16th.

Interesting to see that Santander is processing these transactions at weekends. I had an SO going out from Santander today, for the first time ever on a Sunday.
  • Looks like Secure Trust are edging their bets to get some money in before the rate review on Thursday. Their Access Account (issue 9) has gone to up to 4.98% (4.87% monthly).  I think this has been done on Friday, previously it was 4.80% AER

Hi @friolento........ that's an extremely important spot. It might be worth mentioning on the regular saver thread as I believe many time their funding of a current account for the expected SO day after a weekend or bank holiday.

I thought all banks behaved the same way.

This is re notice accounts but both banks are promoted by MSE and do EA. Not impressed with Oxbury - they pay monthly interest but no option to transfer to linked account, you. CAn only withdaw subject to 90 day wait. Also log in is long winded, no telephone support. So I closed it.

Opened RCI 95 day which has better interest and pays it monthly to your linked account. Plus you can call them.

I'm in an identical position, I also applied online, & received a confirmation notification a few hours before the deadline closed at midnight last week.
I believe I may have figured it out though. The Santander mobile banking app doesn't appear to show any interest rates, but when I logged in on the website, & clicked 'Easy Access Saver' on the 'My Accounts' section, it has 2 interest rate options:
It clearly displays an interest rate of 5.08% on the right hand side of the same page, (because when opening the account, I selected monthly, rather than annual interest)  - I believe the annual interest rate is around 5.25%.
Underneath that, (underlined in red) is a link to 'Find your interest rate' which seems to direct you to the current interest rate if you applied after the deadline. Maybe this is where you were getting confused? I sincerely hope that I'm right, & we're both receiving the higher rate.
If you're not living on the edge, you'll take up too much room.
