  • And just like that Chip increase to 4.51%
I closed a Chip account down before they offered Savings like this, I wonder if you can reopen?

Kroo I still have, no movement from them in a while now...

No authenticator app required. Just username (you choose), password (you choose) and passcode (you choose). I sent a Faster Payment deposit and it was in the account within a couple of minutes.
Revisiting this one, who are the main providers offering leading rates which allow online logging in without an authenticator? Leeds & Coventry BS come to mind?

YBS you need a mobile to receive a text.
Yes YBS send code, or call you if you prefer, landline can be used.

Edit - neither required to use app.

Don't have a landline, but is one way of getting around losing your phone SIM n all!

Thanks! Looks like everyone moving out to DF etc triggered too many outflows and got them to budge

When did that happen.....I was only using the Chip app ~10 mins ago and it showed the previous rate, but yes, it's now showing 4.51%!

Finally got my Newcastle building society log in details. I'll leave a quid in it, might be decent in the future.

Nice big move from Chip. The Coventry account becoming available again probably made them go a bit higher than they were planning to.

Ah, so my optimum (and selfish) tactic should be to persuade everyone other Chip customer on here to move their vast wodges of cash away from Chip, thus scaring Chip into boosting the rate so I don't have to move mine.  Noted.   :D:D

Yes, perfectly timed by Chip for when my Yorkshire Building Society Loyalty Regular eSaver matures tomorrow, which apparently will be converted to a Six Access eSaver paying up to 4%, according to the information supplied by YBS.

I will probably transfer the bulk of the matured funds to Chip tomorrow, after checking the actual interest rate on the Six Access eSaver first in case the rates have altered since the YBS leaflet was published/printed.
