From memory, was it Investec whom you were praising,"the interest rate isn't the be all, end all of depositing" was it that you said?
Personally I'd have refrained from saying anything about opening an account with others after those comments.

Thanks mebu60. I can't see any historic or legacy issues anywhere so who knows what that means. As an aside, I've not had an account with them before, would you recommend? I see they do joint accounts which is what I'm looking for too.

Thanks again mebus60. Sounds good to me. The instant access thing not a big deal for me, as long as transactions within a reasonable timeframe. Cheers.

infoadict said:Two letters just received from Newcastle - both totally useless TBH. One is thank you for opening account with acc details and the other is time to fund it. No mention of authentication code to enable withdrawals. It just says when you first log in to carefully check the details of your chosen nominated bank before you transfer funds, Which obviously isn't possible yet.So don't get excited when you get yours
You can actually check your nominated account, by clicking the 'change details' tab at the top of the home screen.
Scroll down, and see nominated account and a message to authenticate.0 -

Perhaps there should be a separate Newcastle thread as it seems to be dominating this one.8
