Second time round we noticed that at the end where you put down your nominated bank details they specifically ask to only initial your first name in the account holder field. I was probably just not fully awake this morning and put the full name down. Maybe this tripped up the system asking for snailmail as it's not an exact match?

Just a thought as so many faced the same issues, having openend probably many accounts before without the need for such stuff.
I put initials and surname exactly as requested... so in my case at least it wasn't that which caused the problem.

Sounds like a mystery on what criteria they choose who is subjected to "post ID" burden and who is not.  Could it be the age, gender, post code or just randomised???
I honestly didn’t even spell my own name correctly on the application first thing this morning (also not fully awake) yet wasn’t asked for ID, and my account was fully functional mid-morning with a £10 deposit accepted.

I was just logged in to Shawbrook's site (to withdraw approx £80k ready for tfr to Newcastle BS new account) and Shawbrook's 'Apply Online' link is broken.
If you mean the 'apply' button for their easy access account, it seems to be working fine for me.
No I mean the 'Apply Online' button once you are already logged in to an existing account:

I logged into YBS online banking and I can't see any interest rate change applied to their Loyalty Six Access E-Saver account (NLA).  It is still displaying a rate of 4.00%

According to Moneyfacts, the YBS Online Rainy Day account (issue 2) (and the branch/postal edition) will be paying 4.35%

This means YBS are applying the whole 0.50% BOE base rate increase to the above accounts.

    Well done YBS.
I knew that would happen as I emptied my account and moved the money to Chip yesterday  :s

    Well done YBS.
I've just opened the account, having closed a previous one a few weeks ago.

The interest rate is now showing as 4.35%.

If it stays that way, I'll be emptying it for Newcastle's Tracker.
