By no means is this a top rate, but this may interest those who are in my situation of keeping a quid in Monmouthshire BS' Easy Saver to maintain membership: the interest rate has increased from 1% to 3.2% at some point in the past week.
Well I'm now getting about 2p extra interest each year for doing very little so that'll do me.
They closed mine down cos I inadvertently took it to zero balance and account terms were minimum 1% 🤦‍♂️

That said, I have not seen a product of interest to me since then anyway.

You could always open another one. I closed mine in December when they launched the Premium Instant account thinking that I could reduce the balance of that down to £1, which they wouldn't do (they have since updated their Ts&Cs around Februaryish to allow withdrawals below £25k). I applied for another one a fortnight ago ready for when my regular savers mature (it may come in useful) and have sent my regular saver passbooks to them to be updated when they asked me to provide my signature again.
  • I know, but I cba, unless they have changed the faff around the nominated account.

Previously, I had to send a paper statement to them as verification account in my name. Couldn't do it electronically.

Still have the passbook for the closed account as a sort of piece of nostalgia of my childhood

When I changed my nominated account in March they verified it electronically. It only took them a few days so I never had to send any statements or anything. It was around this time they returned to me the statement I had sent to them back in November to prove my original nominated account.
  • Gatehouse EA account will be rising to 3.83% (monthly interest). Source: email.

Very surprised Chip havent upped their rate yet
Got the email as well. Will wait until late afternoon if Chip is going to make a move but if not cash is going to be parked with Gatehouse, at least over the weekend.
Interesting that you'd consider moving funds for 0.01% extra 🤔
Why not? I would (and have done in the past for less than 0.1% as evidenced by my posts earlier in this thread). It takes very little effort to move the money if you have the account already.

If I had any money that wasn't in regular savers/tracker accounts I'd be shifting some money to Gatehouse once again but at the moment the whole lot is at 4.25% or above barring a few accounts with minimum balances so Gatehouse will remain at £1 for now.
Will you loose some interest while your money is in the ether ?

Chip had their first profitable month ever in May. Good news for all the people who were concerned about their FSCS status, but they might get a bit slower at raising rates unless people do move out every time their rates get beaten.
