From the Hanley BS website "All of the Society’s variable rate savings accounts will see their interest rate increase by 0.25% from 1st July 2023"

That was how I read it too. Postal application wasn't an option. You had to physically show up. Factoring the cost of travel it didn't seem worth it.Steve_xx said:

It appears this one is a BOE base rate tracker, and states in the can they change the rate box it is increasing effective 1st June. Better terms than the Mansfield notice tracker (NLA), IMOwhere_are_we said:From the Hanley BS website "All of the Society’s variable rate savings accounts will see their interest rate increase by 0.25% from 1st July 2023"If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

As it has a freepost address I've sent the application form off anyway. At worst they'll ask me to go into branch, which I shalln't do since my nearest is 125 miles away, so therefore the account won't be opened, at best they'll do a Monmouthshire on me and open the account regardless.TiVo_Lad said:

You can definitely apply by post but the ongoing management is also by post and cheque so not for me. Access rules apply too.Bridlington1 said:

Do you also get a little savings book where the cashier writes down your deposits and withdraws and tallys up the balance?sibby_cash said:

Great rate, but im not going all the way back to 1996 to get it.Ex Sg27 (long forgotten log in details)Massive thank you to those on the long since defunct Matched Betting board.3 -
Same here. Too many complications and if I have to visit the branch it's a non starter. Mansfield pays me 4.50% and 90 days notice is not a problem for me, so far I have been cancelling all my notices because the rate stays leading.Band7 said:

From the Hanley's website: "Based on the current interest rate, if you deposited £1,000.00 in this account, after 12 months you would have £1,004.25." - oops, that's not very much these days
They should probably correct this error, it's a bit misleading.

The problem with raisin is that you have to request a withdrawal from the offering bank to your raisin account and then to your bank. IME can take a week. Not so easy access.Steve_xx said:GB bank via Raisin are offering 3.65% easy access, with a minimum deposit of £1000.1
