Santander online users take note - new payment limit feature introduced today set at £5k. Apparently email was sent out a month ago which I have never received. It has been on the app for the past month I am also told. When I tried increasing my limit it just errored.
This is just the default max. Natwest Group have had similar for a while now. Apparently it’s in response to consumet requests 🤷‍♀️

You can change it to max £25k, which is what I have done. Can’t remember whether I got an email but I did see it in the app.

I've discovered the Santander issue today. I didn't receive any communication from Santander regarding this. I got over the problem by making two payments. Santander are becoming increasingly intolerable.

It has been on the app for the past month I am also told. When I tried increasing my limit it just errored. Have been on the phone the past 45 minutes. They cannot increase the limit, has to be done by user. After much faffing with clearing cookies etc etc (which now means I have to sign into everything from scratch again) it still does not work. They offered to do payments >£5k over the phone but as it was past 1pm by then and I was sending to Hampshire Trust there was no point. I had done 2 x £5k earlier so at least got some there today. As if this wasn't all frustrating enough it could be up to 48 hours before they get back to me!
If you use Santander online I hope you received the notification and have been able to up your payment limit with no issues ready for all the new rates hitting us from next week.
I dont remember an email but did see in app message about it, I had set my limit back to 25k back in end of April via the app as you get confirmation email when you change it.

Monzo own-brand instant access savings pots to 3.40% effective today. Not TOTP worthy, but may be of interest to existing account holders.

No email here, neither in inbox nor spam.  Was able to raise the limit easily enough though, after being led to the option when I tried to make a payment over £5k.

Having done that, I've still no idea where to find the option again and can't see any instruction or info. No idea whether there are separate limits for website and app.

PS. Now found the option in the app and limit has been increased across the account.

Thanks. I have just looked online and on the app and my limit is also £5k.

On either platform it is easy to change although it looks like the maximum allowed is £25k.

I guess larger payments require some other validation which may require a phone call.
