It does seem that citibank have produced a new savings account, which means everyone who has the old account (including me) has been dumped to the standard variable rate of 1.00% ??
Being new to this it seems the only thing to do now is to ditch and switch to the next top payer? I've only had my money in there about 3 weeks so would the interest be calculated and added when i remove my money?0 -
The new account is Flexible Saver Account Issue 7 while the old is Issue 6 and still has the original interest rate (3.3% AER) as noted here.0

Surely they wouldnt pay a higher interest rate on an older account? And isn't the issue 6 account a variable introductory period, that has now consequently been lowered due to the new issue 7 account?0

This seems to confirm the 12 month rate but has a confusing title of accounts that are no longer available. The rate should still apply but prob best someone call Citibank free from a landline on 0800 00 55 00 and post their response here... will try and do if not beaten to it!
Martin, team - when removing accounts from the top list why not put a note on the page to say why, if the rates changed, the account is no longer available etc?
Cheers

Have anyone heard of the Barclays Defined Returns Plan ?
Bascily you invest a lump sum of money for either 4,5 or 6 years and if the FTSE 100 stays level not below the level when you invest you recive a 24%, 37.5% or 45% return at the end of the period.
Down sides is if the FTSE fall below you just get your money back no interest.
Can anyone advise if these plans are worth investing in ?
Can anyone advise of any other plans offering a better return ?
Thanks0 -
For future reference MR G, this isn't the thread for talking about investments, it's for discussion of instant-access savings accounts. You're likely to get more responses if you start a new thread (assuming you've searched and there isn't one already).0

Regarding Ulster Bank account. On MSE It stated that the minimum deposit was £10,000. Yet on Ulster website, it mentions a figure of 15,000. Who is right?, or is this Euros in ireland?.0
