He wasn't fed with misinformation. The last time a 3% current account, open to all, with interest on up to £85k was announced was in 2012.AmityNeon said:Patrington said:AmityNeon said:Patrington said:AmityNeon said:'For Kroo to pop up out of seemingly nowhere (comparatively) and offer the highest interest rate for unlimited instant access since 2012, and on a current account no less...Where have you read this?
I didn't. This evening's Martin Lewis Money Show (timestamp 09:32) was all about savings and interest rates.
"That's actually the best, open to all, easy access savings with unlimited withdrawals we've seen since 2012."
He's mistaken
Feel free to personally correct him on Twitter. I'm sure he'll advise his researchers not to feed him misinformation next time.

Took me 7 hours yesterday. Applied approx 11:00 and didn't receive approval until just after 18:00.

It deffo wasn't mentioned as a small text subheader requirement on TCB yesterday like it is now - I think it was squirreled away in the T&Cs, although I did mine mid-afternoon so the offer may have been updated by then. My TCB just says purchase £0.00 Estimated Payable N/A which is annoying as I funded it as soon as it was open, and clicked through from TCB.Unless my memory has failed completely I don't believe that there was mention of a funding requirement in the TC offer yesterday. There was mention of the cashback amount for opening the account - £20.
I stuck a tenner in the Kroo account yesterday, just to check it was open and functioning. I've got a couple of entries in TC (zero and £20, both pending). Doesn't look like there's a correlation between adding cash and getting TC credits.
I'll put it down to the fact they are getting mobbed by new applicants at the moment. Might just top-up to £50 just in case.
Kroo should be a decent regular saver feeder like Chase savings account once the interest rate is bumped up.0 -
Speaking of TSB
today they increased their savings pots by 1% - now at 2.52%1 -
FYI my Topcashback also shows the £20 and another for £0. Both pending and have different Order ID numbers. Haven't transferred any funds yet. Plus I managed to get through the Kroo application in one attempt with lots of patience, so no multiple attempts. Not sure why there are two amounts shown.

Fond memories. Despite a £20k limit [for interest purposes], they allowed any number of accounts, so it was easy enough to stick £85k in there. Not anywhere near as easy though as Kroo.
