Silly suggestion started by someone would buys pet then don't want to pay for kennels. Don't kid on "the dog loves going abroad" Passenger cabins are now bad enough without people bringing this as well.

It isn't that I don't want to pay for kennels, I want him with us, not stuck in some kennel where he would feel abandoned. I spend a lot on my dog, when my last dog was ill, and the vet recommended that he was put to sleep, before doing so, I paid over £2,000 for an MRI and a consultation with a specialist vet to make sure that every avenue had been explored.

EDIT: Also when I take my dog from London to Newcastle and back again by train, I travel first class, simply because there is more floor space for him to sit in the first class compartment.

Hopefully Brexit will put a stop to this animal passport nonsense completely. Bad enough having them crapping and urinating all around the channel ports, having that on board an aircraft would be gross.

Why would Brexit make a difference? The pet passport is in place to stop rabies (and other conditions) being brought back into the UK. It is UK (not EU) driven.

Babies aren’t left covered in their own fecal matter, dogs are.

A small labrador would need a carrier of at least 120x90x90, I think you may need to reconsider your maths.

    That is simply not true, a 1070 x 787 x 711 mm cage is large enough for a Labrador (https://lordsandlabradors.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog-beds/dog-cages/lords-labradors-deluxe-gold-crate/?attribute_pa_product-size=medium&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2fWuyea_4AIVar7tCh0oVQQBEAQYBSABEgJFs_D_BwE )

Labradors are not small dogs, but dogs come in various sizes, you could have two large cages at ground floor level, with medium and smaller cages at two levels above floor level.

They can’t however fly into UK in the cabin, animals are only able to leave the UK in the cabin.

That is not true, I have not only witnessed dogs fly into the UK myself that were in the cabin, I have also talked to the owners about their experiences of flying with their dogs. Also it isn't just small dogs in the cages, assistance dogs of any size are allowed too.

It is true, they can only leave in the cabin, the rules were altered when quarantine rules change in 2012. Assistant animals have always had different rules to pets, so not really relevant.

Crackers idea. Can you imagine how an emergency evacuation would go? Loads of frightened dogs in a smoke filled cabin and rather than everyone just heading straight to emergency exits several people are trying to rescue their petrified cowering dog...

If it was such a good idea, an airline would be doing doing it.

So many reasons why they are not.

    Got my popcorn

Most labradors are too long for a 107 cage, you measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail, however the cage needs to be long enough for the animal to lay down without touching any of the sides, so when you add in tail length (and paws out front), 107 is far too small. That is even too small for our bulldog (if you ignore the 10% rule we have to follow due to his short snout) who required 110 plus 10%.

Not entirely sure why you chose a cage that isn’t allowed on any form of aircraft, probably because you saw the actual dimensions for an approved one.

Brittany Ferries didn't have dog cabins until about 10 years ago, now they get booked up within the first few days that they are available.

You could even fit the size of cage that you selected in the space that I referred to (which was 2 rows of seats).
