Sold the Wrong Car

Bid and won a car on eBay 9 years later still have her.
Only viewed and drove on the day I handed over the cash.
Slightly different to the OP but still bought unseen
Was it as described though ?It does seem fairly common. Most threads on here that want help with a problem vehicle seem to mention they bought a car they didn't view.
Yes I've seen various threads now you mention it.
Its just fraught with issues if your not aware of the pitfalls of not viewing a car before buying it.0 -
Yes, it is.
Before delivery, he had the opportunity to reject it.
Even after delivery, he had 14 days to reject it as a distance sale.
And even more relevant is whether he sussed before agreeing to buy.
However the fact remains he doesn't seem to be in much of rush to get it sorted given that he could've resolved it straightaway if he wanted to. Clearly more to this than meets the eye.0 -
He's been quite clear that he bought the car unseen and therefore only noticed it when the car was delivered.
He's been asked several times whether he realised the error in the ad before agreeing to purchase or after, and hasn't answered that.0 -
That's certainly the impression he wants to give, but he talked about viewing the car "in meticulous detail" via "thorough videos" before agreeing to purchase, and about he "knew straight away" because it was badged correctly. He's also talked about knowing the advert was wrong.

You keep saying he knew the ad was wrong but I can’t see anywhere in his posts where he says he knew the advert was wrong0 -
You keep saying he knew the ad was wrong but I can’t see anywhere in his posts where he says he knew the advert was wrongJust to clear things up I knew straight away that it was a 218i, it has the badge on the back. And you can certainly tell the difference between a 1.5 and a 2l when driving. How no one spotted it is beyond me!
My previous lease ran out so I need a car. I was a little naive and knew all the paperwork and advertisement was wrong so I thought they didn’t have a leg to stand on if I returned the car.
...
I had the choice to refused the car at the beginning however I chose it was in the best interest for myself to take it in the hope it would be resolved.0 -
What part of that suggests to OP knew it was the wrong car before purchasing?
He knew "straight away" because it had a 218i badge.
At the very least, he admits he knew on delivery - yet still accepted the car because he was in a hurry to be on wheels, and thought he could reject the car at his leisure because of the error. You're simply making assumptions based on nothing.where does that say he knew the ad was wrongI ... knew all the paperwork and advertisement was wrong0 -
He viewed it in "meticulous detail" via "thorough videos" before agreeing to buy.

I'm asking him to confirm or deny that.
