  • What about a loaf for the grandparents one? If you do lemon drizzle loaf, you can just drizzle some plain icing on top and stick some figurines and candles on. Not sure if that's "fancy" enough for a 4 year old though?

SQ anything with icing will be a winner with my 4 year old!! I usually make loaf cakes as they are so easy so that's a good idea! As it will be half term i may just let the boys decorate it - that will be some cheap fun!!

  • Does anyone know if make-up sells? My sil bought me an expensive lip gloss for my birthday and it is totally not my colour - I was gutted!!

Not long ago, I was getting paid minimum wage and the only way I was surviving was by selling all of my (tons and tons) of make up online so it definitely does sell! :)

I found the easiest place for me to sell was apps like Depop, Carousell and Schpock - technically against their rules to sell used cosmetics but it was never enforced.

You can also try Facebook sales - beauty related pages are best for this, if you try to sell on the general sales pages you'll get a load of timewasters.

Reddit also has make up sales pages but I think you have to be a user for a certain number of days first.

Ebay is a pain for selling cosmetics of any sort - I always avoided it because my listings kept getting taken down.

Thanks SQ - i will give it ago. It's unused and when i googled it they are £18 new so it seems a shame not to give it a go.

Hope your circumstances have improved now? xx
  • I had totally forgotten about doing surveys (a couple of years ago when times were much harder I did loads). I have just logged into my PA account and I have £9.74 in there - just done 4 surveys and have £3.55 pending. Hoping I can keep this up. Must check on cash out levels too.

    Can anyone recommend any others?

    xx
  • Populus Live is a good one, I only do Prolific and Populus now.

With Populus, you can only cash out when you get to £50 and they send a cheque. They email surveys to you and pay £1 per 5 minutes so it's quite good pay. Surveys tend to be on the longer side, £3-£4 or so, so it's only worth it if you can spend that much time in one sitting to do the surveys. I normally make £50 per 2 months or so. They email the surveys directly to you so you don't have to sit and refresh.

Morning BB50. Yours is another diary I could have sworn I'd subscribed to but hadn't :o

Pots, pots and more pots is my motto :rotfl: Took me a while to decide what I needed to set up and I'm still adding one or two as I go along but it really does help.

I only do PA but I'm sure Homegrown has mentioned Qmee, or something similar to that is good. I'm a convert to Receipt Hog and Shoppix as well. All you do is take a photo of your receipts, build up points and you get a voucher for doing it. It's not quick money, think weeks rather than days for a pay out, but it all helps for the short time it takes to take a photo.

Homemade birthday cakes are the best. A bit of ready roll icing and some lego figures, ponies etc. stuck on always looked really good. As the DC's got older I bought cake toppers off Ebay. Not encouraging you to spend money but if you're making your own cake that will be cheap enough to then spend £5 or less on a topper. Loads of themes to choose from as well.

Right, I've subscribed now so I can keep up with you. :T Have a lovely day. xx

Thanks Tea and thank you for subscribing :D

I am going to do a bit of a round up tomorrow if all my pots. I think I need a house one.

You are right homemade cake is the best and I ordered some supplies on my online shop which was delivered today.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend.
  • Had a tough couple of days so not kept up with my diary and spending. My poor dad has been admitted to hospital so I have spent lots of time there. They are such expensive places though - price of parking is ridiculous £8 yesterday and £5 today plus expensive coffee!!

However all DD 's have been paid and we have 13p in our account to last us till our new month starts next Thursday. We have food shopped and cars are full of petrol. I am not sure how much of our weekly fun money has been spent - I will work that out in the morning. It's half term and I have promised the boys a trip to the cinema in Monday so that will cost, I am working on Tuesday so they are in holiday clubs etc and Wednesday we have free activities booked at the library.

I think I am going to ring the mortgage company on Monday and see if I can make this month's payment over a couple of months as I will be paid even less than I thought next week however it looks like I will be paid in full in March as we have rushed to finish some work so we could get the invoices out, it will take some pressure off of me trying to earn a lot through my side hustles and if I am hospital visiting every day I don't have the same amount of time.

    Right enough waffling xx
