    £200 for an umbrella?!?

We had a low spend day, despite it being DS2 birthday party. Made the cake last night, only needed to buy smarties and ready-roll icing. The party was at a gaming hub, (so basically a load of kids playing games consoles for 2 hours). With that in mind, there was little point providing much food other than sandwiches, crisps and grapes. It cost £20 to hire, plus the food, but no other entertainment (adult interaction :o ) was needed so money well spent for us!

In the afternoon we all went for a lovely long walk to let the kids run off the sugar rush from the cake/haribo :rotfl:

We are budgie-sitting at the moment, and I think said budgie is used to a much more tropical house than ours. His cage is by the radiator, and I felt so guilty seeing him fluffed up that I put the heating on earlier for him. And now feel guilty spending the extra gas.

Dinner was from stores, washing on quick wash and on the airer. Homework done, and now nearly bedtime. DH is in bed ill, so I've just got to clear kitchen/make kids lunches (leftover party sandwiches!), sort bags/uniform etc and then look at the banking.

All kids are invited to scout camps, on the same weekend, which would give DH and I our first night without kids for 6 years!!! We were all set to sign them up when DH got the bombshell about drop in work, so we can't really afford to splurge.

It would cost £130, so we're going to switch bank accounts to try to raise the money to cover - fingers crossed the new bank accepts us and we can wave kids off on their merry way, guilt free, as we wouldn't need to dip into our normal budget.

Potential good news for DH job issues - there might be something in the pipeline, but will take a few weeks to be confirmed. Got everything crossed!

After that, I'm settling down with a HWB, a library book and a glass of leftover vino.
