Well, the move went well :D and we're settling in wonderfully into our new home. I'll be honest - it was slightly gut-wrenching on moving day and I did get a little teary-eyed as I left the old house for the last time..... but it didn't last long thankfully and once all our stuff was unpacked this place soon felt like home :)

We've been in touch with Northern Rock and told them we've left and that the house is empty. They're sending us a Voluntary Reposession form to complete and return, but from what I've read on here I'm not sure whether we will actually be signing it...... we'll certainly be going over it with a fine tooth comb first if we do ;)

It's just a little over 4 weeks now until BR day - how scary is that? It was 3 whole months when we booked it  We haven't started the forms yet, but they're our 'project' for next week <watches as all the regulars flee from their pcs and laptops next week> and we're starting them on Monday <gulp>.

Sky were not so totally useless as we expected ;) We were back on-line yesterday so were only without the internet for a week :D It was a good thing though; we are completely unpacked and I know for a fact I'd still be shoulder-high in boxes if I'd had this place to come on to :rotfl:

For anyone out there considering doing similar to us, in leaving their mortgaged house to go into rented - don't be scared, it's been absolutely okay really :) I swore months ago I'd do anything to prevent us losing that house, but do you know what? A house just by itself is not a 'home', it's the people in it with you that make it that :)

    Scarlett xx

  • :T So glad the house move has gone well. Your bound to be a little emotional but you will soon make this new house your home:D
Right off to book a holiday somewhere...anywhere for next week:p
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

 Glad the move went smoothly. It's been quiet around here without you :p

As you said home is where the people you love are.

  • Best of luck in your new home Scarlett and try not to worry about the BR - thinking about it and planning it is worse than actually doing it - I promise - I know - 5 weeks on and I can tell you. It's your new start

    Thanks loopy lou :)

I've been so consumed with the move for the last month or so that BR has sort of took a back seat...... but now we're finally moved and it's a little over a month away I feel like we really must crack on with the forms  they're scaring me more that the thought of the BR itself :o I just hope I don't make too much of a nusiance of myself next week with never ending questions and queries :o

  • I had to move into rented 8 years ago when I got divorced as I couldn't afford to buy by myself and I was SOOoo happy in my little rented house, I met my current hubby a few years later and we rented another house together which we loved, we have just managed to buy somewhere but we agree, wherever you live as long as you have love you will be happy - ooh just thought of a cheesy eighties song - Wherever I lay my hat - Paul Young :D

Best of luck to you all xx

How about Starship" we can build this dream together" another cheesy song but a good one. I used to sing "climb every mountain" and "you'll never walk alone" to myself when i felt things get on top of me(whoops) before my b/c. Now i sing songs like "happy talk".lol. Glad the move went ok and found it interesting as we are thinking of moving too but we are only council so do not have the bother of repossesion ect.Dalip
