I will tigerfeet, I promise <looks shamefaced>. Am just heading off to get the kids from school in a minute, then am working tonight, but I'm going to do it tomorrow morning
You have my permission to give me a virtual kick tomorrow if I'm on here before I do it
Ahh, quidcoWell, in no particular order, I:
Changed gas & electric suppliers - £80 (British Gas, dual fuel)
Changed cat insurance - £40. (Churchill)
Changed contents insurance - £70 (Churchill)
Changed life insurance - £80 (Legal & General)
Those were the biggies. The rest was from a couple of online shops at boots.com and marksandspencer.com and also inkjet, which paid £9.00.
Hope that helpsYou can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Well, I did it, I got the forms Out Of The Envelope  and do you know what......... they're not that bad
I thought they looked incredibly thick and was getting most concerned for my writing hand, but then I realised the very helpful clerk had actually put 3 copies in each envelope (she did tell me on the phone that we could just fill in 1 each and photocopy them, so that's a relief!), so once I'd seperated them they weren't too bad at all
The notes that come with them look pretty comprehensive and answer most of my question, but no doubt at all that I'll be on here with numerous questions when I do actually start filling them in
Looking at the "Court fees - do you have to pay them?" booklet, I think we *might* not have to, due to the level of income we have, so that would be great. Does anyone know, can I take what it says in the booklet as 'definite', or should we still pitch up on the day with the court fees as well as the OR fees?
Feeling quite positive now. Yes, they'll be time consuming and a bit difficult in places, but they're not impossible
Thanks tigerfeet :beer:You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Hi, just reading your thread and given me some hope, we kind of doing things the other way around to you, already moved out of owned property into rented we found that EA all very nice if you up front with them about your situation. We hoped to sell our house but secured lender who is 2nd charge won't allow this so now considering bankruptcy. Going to take your inspiraiton on board and start making phone calls tomorrow...
Already have all debt stuff in place as been on DMP with CCCS since April but paying £154 a month off a debt of over £80k was never a long term solution. Like you have nice A4 folder with coloured stuff in and this is our folder of doom! So hopefully won't have too much rooting about for stuff.
My big worry is my job, have own private ltd company and guess this will be effected, but I'm beyond caring now....
Having a great husband, two gorgeous kids and our health is far more important. Wish me luck!Proud to be dealing with our debt! :T0 -

Hi there purplelaurel
We are in quite similar positions aren't we? We could never have sold our house either with the negative equity in it, which is why we're taking this route instead.
You've done the hardest bit, I think, in that you've already secured yourselves a new homeI wish you all the very best in reaching a decision you're happy with. If you decide that BR is the way forward for you, then don't be scared to come on here and ask whatever questions are on your mind. I think I can pretty much promise that whatever worry you have, someone else will have been there already and will have an answer for you
I'm sorry I don't know anything about being self employed and having a limited company but CCCS or the National Debtline or the Insolvency people might be able to advise you more there?

None of ours were actually up for renewal, I just cancelled all the DDsI did check all the paperwork for them all thoroughly and the only one I think I might incur a penalty from in the contents insurance (Direct Line), but I haven't heard anything from them yet.

Good evening all
Not much to report from us at the moment (until next week when we miss the first mortage payment <gulp>), the "BR/Moving" fund is building up quite nicelyand we have 2 rental properties to go and view on Wednesday, so I'm hopeful one of them will be suitable. 1 is a bit over our budget, but the EA told me it's been on the market, empty, for 4 months now, so she's sure the LL will accept a discount, so fingers crossed there!
That's about it for now from me
Oh, apart from, just rememberedNext Directory have been calling me like 3/4 times a day every day (despite me writing to them, one of those "very firm" letters saying don't phone anymore etc....) and H got so fed up of them calling he told them I'd moved out and he didn't know where I was!! That was really naughty of him wasn't it? I was stunned when he told what he'd done and didn't know whether to shout at him or laugh
