  • We went to the Co-op this morning to apply for our cashminder accounts. The chap who dealt with me said "are you sure you only want that one? It's very basic you know", to which I replied cheerfully "yes, quite sure thanks, I was made bankrupt yesterday". "Okay-dokey then" says he ;)

We were both 'referred' which is a little worrying but is apparently quite common. So, just waiting to hear now.

The OR rang about an hour ago  We both spoke to her for about 5/10 minutes each and our interviews are booked for Thursday 6th March. She'll do us together, one after the other. Potless will go first while I pace up and down chain-smoking, waiting my turn ;)

  • Well, some good(ish) news about my job - I'm not being made redundant, but to help 'cut costs' my hours (and obviously wages) are being reduced by half. Should I inform the OR of this right away? It's not coming into effect until 10th March and my interview is on the 6th March, so should I just mention it then? I suppose one positive point - the chances of an IPA now have got to be very slim

We've both had our "Welcome Packs" ;) from the OR office today and, as expected, they've asked us to send in all bank statements, CC statements, loan agreements etc...... Some we've got, some we haven't - is it acceptable to just send in what we have got with maybe a covering note explaining the ones that we haven't got?

There's no mention at all about our tenancy agreement, I thought they'd ask for this? Should I ask at the interview or keep quiet? I'm really hoping I can convince the OR not to tell the LL and I'm wondering if I mention it, might I be drawing attention to it? Should I just keep quiet and see if he mentions it?

Just found our names on the Insolvency Register. That felt really strange, seeing it there in black and white. Made me feel a bit 'wibbly' actually :o

  • Hi Scarlett,

I would mention your reduction in hours at the interview, as it's so close to when the change actually takes effect, if only to make the OR aware of it. They may ask you for a letter from your employer confirming the situation - you'd probably get that sent to you anyway, as it's a change to your terms & conditions.

Don't worry about your statements - the OR can get anything you haven't got direct from the bank/credit card company, so just enclose a covering letter explaining what's there. Remember to include in your letter a request for all your documents to be returned to you - sometimes they will & sometimes they won't, but at least you mentioning it will highlight the issue for them. As they haven't asked for it, I wouldn't include the tenancy agreement, but I would include a request that they don't contact your landlord, again to formalise your request. If you're having face-to-face interviews rather than telephone ones, I'd carry a copy of the tenancy agreement with me just in case it's asked for.

Yes, it is strange seeing your name on the Insolvency Register, isn't it? I took a screenshot of my "appearing in a cinema near you" moment, as you'll be surprised how quickly you disappear off their radar, & them off yours. :)

Well done to you both. :)
  • Hi WDIAG and thanks

I'll do all of that then. Do I have the right to ask for my documents to be returned to me then? I thought the OR would keep them. Not sure if I want them back anyway :rotfl: apart from the bank statements, I'd like those back. We're having our interviews over the telephone, thank god!

Good idea re the screenshot. I shall do that and possibly have them framed ;)

  • Don't worry - if you don't have a right to the documents, the OR will tell you. In this life, if you don't ask you won't get. :)

  • Morning all :D

Well, all the stuff is ready to send off to the OR today, I got it all done yesterday afternoon. Seriously though, HOW rubbish are the envelopes they send you??? I've rammed all my paperwork into a huge A4 size one and it was still a real squeeze :o Potless will be dispatched to the post office later this morning to post them off. They're going Special Delivery, he just wanted to send them normal post, but I said I wasn't risking all my hard work getting lost in the post!

Can I safely say now that any further nasty letters, demands etc... that come through the post can be binned, or should I keep them and forward them on to the OR?

My Co-op account has been approved and is open :D Not bad going at all I reckon, top marks to the Co-op. Only went in there last Tuesday and have just rung them now for a progress report (having had a letter on Saturday saying it had been "approved in principle") and was given my account number and sort code. So, that's my morning sorted, calling and re-instating DDs etc.....

  • Tell you what Scarlett can you come round here and sort this place out. It needs major organization and I reckon you are just the girl for the job :D .

As for the letters some people say file 13 for them and others say post to the OR. If it were me Iwould keep posting them on to the OR, but that's just me, I would just want to make sure all bases are covered :rotfl:
